Chapter 195: Days of Future Past

[3rd POV]

The Days of Future past was a...complicated universe. A world where everything went to shit thanks to the actions of a few. With the designation of "Earth 811" Gwen was very interested in the universe.

It started back when the Jean Grey of that universe was possessed by the Dark Phoenix, but unlike in the mainline 616 universe, her father did not cast her out, which meant that she did not die in a Shi'ar Honor duel that would occur in the future, which meant that she and Scott Summers married, and even had a child.

Rachel Summers.

One of the most powerful mutants in this reality, the host of the phoenix, or at least a portion of it. The woman would be incredibly important to the city, alongside another mutant, one of the most powerful out there, the son of Reed Richards and Susan Storm...

Franklin Richards.

Franklin was a mutant, an incredibly powerful, impossibly strong one. One that could contend against the likes of Galactus, and should he ever reach his full, true potential, he would be able to defeat Galactus. The power that he had was immense, and would be a huge boon to her city, should she manage to get him and Rachel to move there.

He'd be able to provide another form of defense to the city, alongside Nate, Jean, and Rachel should she join, and that is not even including the orbital cannons and Gwen herself. A combination of all those people would make the city practically impossible to invade, unless of your Galactus or something.

The universe housed a few things she was interested in. The mutants were an obvious one, with there only being a small amount in North America due to the camps being created to kill, capture, and experiment on them, similar to the Age of Apocalypse but probably a bit better, not that that was saying much.

The entirety of the United States of America had been conquered by the Sentinels, created to hunt and kill mutants after the assassination of Senator Kelly, a man that was very fiercely racist against mutantkind.

With his killing, as well as some riots and other events going down, the United States began to put out reforms regarding mutants, especially once a mutant-hating president took over. Eventually this culminated in them reactivating the sentinels, and thus began the beginning of the end of sorts.

It had led to their current situation. The sentinels controlling the entirety of the country, the mutants that weren't in camps or dead were on the run in other countries. The sentinels now were looking into conquering the other countries of the world, and the world as a whole was scared shitless of them, far more than they ever were of Mutants.

Gwen was interested in the universe for Franklin and Rachel, but she was also interested in the universe for the technology they had, like the Sentinels, most notably Nimrod. She was mostly interested in absorbing him rather than using his technology, as her own droids already had the adaption capabilities that a sentinel had.

She wanted to absorb him mostly in order to boost her adaption, which so far was a bit underwhelming with how strong she needed it to be in order to handle Project Rebirth, which involved countless forms of new power, power that involved science and magic, body and soul. The new power would be straining on her, even with all the regenerative powers she had, all thanks to the nature of the powers, and how much it actually was.

Gwen already had a few hundred clones traveling through space in Earth 811, their targets being the same as before, mostly so she could get them sooner than last time. As she didn't really want to stay in this universe for too long, as she really wasn't sure what the cosmic superpowers would think of her recent interference. With her changing things beyond what should have happened with the X-Men of Earth 616.
