Bright lights blind my vision, my eyes squinting as I slowly come in touch with reality again.
Once my vision adjusts, I realise I'm in a hospital gown, lying on a hospital bed with my brothers and Father surrounding my bed.
"Leo!" Alfonzo exclaims, blinking away the sleep out of his eyes as he bolts out of the uncomfortable looking chair and steps closer to me, wrapping his huge arms around my frail body.
"I thought we were going to lose you." He mumbles, his grip tightening on me.
"I'm okay." I whisper, wrapping my arms around his body.
"Thanks to Gio." Luca mutters under his breath, arms crossed over his chest.
"What?" My eyes lift in confusion as I pull away slightly, wondering what Luca means by that.
Only now do I realise everyone is here, everyone but Giovanni.
"Giovanni was the one who got you out." Father speaks up and I jump slightly as I realise how close he's standing to the hospital bed.
"He's still being treated." Luca adds, biting his lip.
Antonio places a hand on his shoulder in reassurance, "He was quick, he'll be fine I'm sure."
Luca nods, his mouth set in a firm line, he still seems sceptical to believe his words.
"We managed to salvage this." Father says, voice low as he hands me letters half burnt by the fire and what's left of the teddy bear.
"Oh." I mutter, fingers clenching tight around the items in my lap.
"You'll stay in my room till we leave." Alfonzo says, sitting on the edge of my bed, "It'll take a while to get your room sorted out, the fire was pretty bad."
"Wonder what started it." Luca mutters, scowling as Antonio sends him a look, "You can't just hide it from him! It's obvious it wasn't an accident-"
"Lucien." Father's cold voice rings out, his eyes daring him to continue.
Luca rolls his eyes, muttering under his breath before turning and slamming the door behind him.
Just as the door slams, Father's phone rings and he glances at it briefly before lifting his gaze to meet mine, "It's Giovanni's doctor, I'll be right back."
The door shuts again but softly compared to how Luca left and the room is left in an awkward silence until Antonio clears his throat, stepping closer towards the bed.
"The doctor said you're free to go home as soon as you wake up, you passed out from the shock of everything." He hesitates before lifting his hand, gently brushing it through my messy curls, "I'm glad you're okay Leo."
Alfonzo whistles, "Didn't know you two made up."
My shoulders lift in a small shrug, I don't think I have it in me anymore to dislike him. It's like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest ever since we had that conversation before the fire.
My eyes widen, "The phone!"
Antonio tilts his head, "This one?"
I watch as he walks over to a chair in the corner of the room, a small gift bag perched on it before he walks back, handing me the bag.
"He got it delivered whilst we were waiting for you to wake up, you were only out for about an hour." Alfonzo says, shaking his head with a smile tugging at his lips.
"Go on." Antonio says softly, sitting down at the edge of the hospital bed.
With careful precision, I gently place the letters and the teddy bear in my lap before reaching inside the bag and pulling out a large, phone shaped box.
