Present || Alfonzo
"You need to be more careful." Dr Nathaniel says, a harsh frown on his face as he finishes addressing my wounds.
Thanks a lot Sofia.
"All of your cuts have reopened again." He carries on scolding me.
After being our family doctor for almost thirty years, we've gotten quite close with Dr Nathaniel considering the number of fights we'd get into. He didn't hesitate to nag us and tell us off whilst patching us up. Even though we aren't related by blood he's like family - especially seeing as Giovanni takes after him being such a health freak although I'm no different I suppose.
I flinch when he tightens the bandage, the stinging sensation rippling throughout my body.
"Don't put any sort of pressure on your back or you'll make it worse. I'd tell you to stay in hospital but you won't will you?" He raises an eyebrow, handing me my hoodie as he finishes wrapping the bandages around my back.
"No chance." I mutter, carefully putting my hoodie on.
"The painkillers prescribed to you last time are the same ones I'd recommend, just increase the dosage slightly. Take them for a month, nothing less and nothing more." He says sternly.
Raising my fingers to my forehead, I give him a salute before grabbing my car keys and phone from his desk.
"Why didn't your father drop you off?" He asks as I make my way to leave.
"I told him Antonio would take me and told Antonio Dad would take me." A chuckle leaves me at his dumbfounded expression.
"And what if you had collapsed whilst driving here? Don't ever do that-"
"Goodbye doc." Waving him off, I close his office door behind me. I can't help but grin at the steam coming out of his ears.
My eyes linger on the empty hallways for a few seconds before I turn and make my way towards the parking lot.
I want to go home.
I want to see Leo.
I just want to sleep.
The cold breeze slaps me on the face as I exit the doors of the hospital and I hastily make my way to the private parking lot.
There's only a few cars parked here but not a face in sight which is great since overcrowded places make me nauseous and piss me off to no end.
I'm almost at my car when a voice calls out from behind me.
"Leaving so soon?"
I don't even have to turn around to know who it is, that all too familiar deep voice sounds closer as the seconds pass by.
"Turn around." He commands softly.
His face lays hidden within the shadows but his eyes, those bright green eyes of his stand out as they always have, their colour a stark contrast to the coldness embedded in them.
He takes a step forward and my body automatically takes one backwards.
Taking another step forward out of the shadows towards me, I can finally get a good look at him.
The man I haven't seen for the past two years.
The man who left me without a word.
"Kier." My voice comes out monotone as I greet him, wanting to desperately turn around and get into my car.
"Alfonzo." He greets back in a low voice, taking another step towards me.
The dark suit he wears clings to his body perfectly, a huge contrast to his light coloured eyes. It does nothing to hide the bulge of his muscles, clearly much bigger than mine especially since I haven't lifted any weights in months. A long chain lays against his firm chest, its silver gleaming in the sunlight raining down on us. His broad frame and perfectly sculpted features would make any woman fall to her knees.
