Reincarnation AU

- Heroes eventually died
(some of them are mortal)

- their insignia branded into the night sky as brightly shining stars, beacons of hope and myth (i.e. Supers, Flashes, Bats, Arrow, Martians, etc.)

- they come back, assuming their old identity

It's been a while, and when most believe everyone has returned, they find that they're mistaken. The Observatorium finds one star yet to descend: Robin, which is within the sign of the Bat, has five branches. 1-4 being blue, red, yellow, purple before they connected with the sign of the Bat, growing in it. (There are adjacent branches, but this one is singularly connected to the branch, not interconnecting seemingly out of choice or placement).

That is to say, at least one Robin is still dead - a theory at most.

The present heroes neither confirm nor deny, some of them only regain their memories with the appropriate time (i.e. deja vu of past events, behaviors).

Damian is a young boy living in a foster home housing many others like him. And he means that as in they're housing strays until the orphanage is rebuilt.
He attends public middle school, and to say he's popular would be an insidious understatement. Not due to anything he's done; it's just that one of the previous residents of the orphanage suddenly awakened as Mr Freeze - the reason the establishment was destroyed.
Hence the fame of being suspected and regarded as an up and coming rogue.

It's not an unfounded reasoning - those of a similar 'constellation' tend to find each other fairly quickly, if not grow up or seek someone out as a safe zone. Though there have also been cases where unfounded hate blossomed: as was the case between the second Robin -now known as the Red Hood- and the Joker, who grew up in the same district and met at a library.
It's a famous story.

He avoids the few people at school who strive to make his life more difficult than it actually is, but they still get to him. Particularly on days he doesn't feel well - runs a fever every year with an aching, stabbing pain in his stomach and lungs.  He just wants to escape it all, find a place he belongs, is accepted in. He doesn't hold much hope, if any at all. Luck has never graced him, and Fate dealt its cards. What he can do is grit his teeth and roll with the punches he gets.

Just as he did after school, getting cornered by the bullies. And that on one of his off-days. He's been feeling off, as the timing and name would make it out to be, but it wasn't a sickly haze or discomfort. It's a deep longing that drives him to enter the school after classes are finished, take 2 stairs up several flights of such till he reaches the roof and then stare at the expanse before him.
He stands at the ledge, behind the chain steel fence, but that's not enough as one minute he's there and the next he's really a step away from falling to his end. The wide expanse calls out to him, condemning him to fall even as something in him whispers why fall, when you can fly?

The abyss seems to beckon, responding
"The bat, against all odds flies when evolution deemed it shouldn't have."

It's death either way - maybe his heart wants him to die. He's been dragging it out, patient that his time will come, but maybe it's time to let go.

(He sings parts from Hamilton from start -beginning of actual story-to finish -crescendo when awakens-)

He takes a leap and for a short, breathtaking moment, he flies.

Batfam are with their own, respective teams/ friends.

A constellation in the Gotham sector shines brightly, the kind that lights up an entire constellation - a star belonging to a group, someone missed bringing the whole group together, finally complete.

As they gaze upon the Bat a green light descends rapidly - Robin's awakening. The two sister constellations light up: it's complete, whole.  A calling to fellowship, to friends and family.

A name comes to mind.

Damian.

The green star shoots and collides with Damian just a few meters off the ground, carrying him aloft and he feels alive.

"My name is... My family...

I am Robin! No one will have me bow to them! I will not be tamed!" It is with this conviction that his suit materialises, a large bird shadowing him (similar to Raven's magic but Green Robin) that deftly transports him to his family.

"Incoming!" Wally shouts as though one might warn of stray fireworks, watching the blur approaching rapidly. In the next minute another one zips up to greet it-
A blue falcon! They impact each other, feathers entangling and bright laughter.

In the distance, a large black bat rises up to join and it's not hard to see some others rising to the sky to greet the last of their line.
