Third Person POV
"Kookah!" Yoongi rolls down his car's window and calls Jungkook from the back as he sees him near the gate of Taekook's apartment building.
Jungkook was walking with his head low. Feeling so weird. Because his mother said that everything was fine. And he knows his father.
His father was not even fighting with his mother. His parents were just arguing, and he would feel better if his father would leave his mother.
Then why does he feel so different and affected?
He halts and looks back. Yoongi gets out of the car, seeing him, Jungkook walks towards him.
It seemed that the elder brother wanted to talk to his younger one about something.
Jungkook comes to stand in front of his hyung. "Yes, hyung?" His voice was low, devoid of any ounce of energy.
Yoongi pats his shoulder. "That was the first time you saw Mom and Mr. Jeon arguing. It was the first time for me, too." Yoongi caresses his head, "But remember that you are neither the cause nor the one to be blamed."
The brunet lowers his head again, tears slowly accumulating in his eyes on understanding that his elder brother is comforting him when they both saw their parents fighting.
Yoongi says, his hands retreated to his pants pockets, "Think of them just as a couple fighting. And they might fight even more, but the fight between a husband and wife should not bring your heart down."
"Why is Dad like this, hyung?" Jungkook looks up and asks in his trembling voice.
Yoongi smiles. "But we survived the worst phase of his with us."
"But..." Jungkook's lips quiver as they speak, "He is making Mom cry."
A tear drops down his eye, and he doesn't waste a second to hug his hyung. His heart filled with anxiety.
"Shh... It's okay, Kook," Yoongi whispers. He brings his arms and loosely puts them around Jungkook, rubbing his back as he consoles his brother.
Even his heart is heavy. The words he just uttered to his brother, he believes them, still new questions arrive in his mind.
The one question was, was Jeon Hyun always a bad person, or did Yoongi's resistance make him a strict father?
He senses wetness on his neck. On realising that Jungkook is crying quietly, he tightens his arms around his brother. Wants to be any sort of comfort and warmth he can provide his brother because he remembers how it was like to cry 'cause of his parents, all alone, with his room locked and his voice caged.
It was those dead nights where he felt like dying every moment; they were those moments that made him the unbothered and strongest soldier that he is today.
"I know it hurts, Kook, to not have the father you needed," Yoongi says with his voice low and deep, filled with such tenderness that it felt like a melody calming Jungkook's racing mind down.
