Chapter 24

Dani's POV

He pulled back after what seemed like forever. Wait! I don't want him to go yet. Oh god, I sound like such a whore.

"Yoohoo? Anyone in there?" Austin asks waving a hand in front of my face. I slap his hand away. "Oooh, someone's mad at me." He says smirking.

"Am not," I argue

"Are too," he says.

"Listen here bu-" I'm cut off because his lips were on mine again. I felt myself melt like butter at his lips, and it took all my will power to push him back. "Stop doing that!" I exclaim. He chuckles. He has the NERVE to chuckle at ME? "Ugh!" I say getting up.

"Wait," he says.

"What?" I say exasperated.

"Stop running."

"I'm not running." Austin gets up and limps over to me. Once we were two inches apart he puts an arm around my waist and pulls me up against him.

"Yes you are," he says. He was right of course. I was running. I didn't want to feel like this anymore. I was already hurt by someone I loved, I can't get hurt again. I didn't realize I was crying again when I heard him murmur to me that everything's going to be okay.

"Shhh, Dani. I promise you I'm not going to hurt you. You're the only girl for me." states Austin. Looking up at him, I see that he has a goofy grin on his face.

"That's so cliché Austin," I say giggling not quite ready to answer him.

"Fine," he says rolling his eyes, "You're my diamond girl."

"Diamond girl eh? I like the sound of that!" I reply.

"So?" asks Austin nervously.

"So what?" I ask confused. Maybe I'm still a little drunk. I don't understand what he wants from me.
