I was genuinely happy, but one thing that bothered me was Jen. How could she do something like that to me? She had encouraged me to kiss someone and do something out of my comfort zone, and now that I was doing exactly that, it was like she was punishing me for it. I wasn't going as far as to say I hated her, but right now I was fairly upset with her not understanding what in the world I had done to her."I can't keep ignoring her," I complained unsure of what to do.
"You should go talk to her. Let her explain. But right now I must admit, I'm not her biggest fan for putting me in a bad light," Harry told me squeezing my hand.
"I know, and that's why I'm afraid I'll just start yelling at her."
Harry raised his eyebrows. "A cat fight? That sounds like something I'd like to watch. Just know I'd be betting for my girl."
I laughed at his stupidness. "I'm serious, Harry."
"So am I. Besides you need to talk it through. Apparently, she has some issues with me. Or you maybe. 'Mm not sure, but I think it's good if you talk it through even if the outcome isn't what you're hoping for. Actually what do you hope to get out of it?"
I shrugged. "I dunno. Like it feels weird for her not to be part of my life any longer, but a year ago I didn't even know her. But she is supposed to be my friend. Why would she want to hurt me?"
"I don't know, love. But right now she doesn't seem much of a friend. I'm sure you can find better. Besides I'm your best friend, right?" He asked with raised eyebrows.
"Of course. And you're the best one that there is." I pecked his lips and remembered another serious topic I needed to discuss with him.
"What's wrong? You're frowning," he stated.
"I talked to Maggie about something," I said looking down.
"Am I supposed to be scared now?" He asked his tone serious even though he was trying to joke about it.
My eyes met his. "Well she mentioned something."
"Mentioned what, El?" His playfulness was all gone.
"Well, she wondered if you had gotten yourself checked. Like if you know you don't have any STD's because you've been with a lot of different girls. And I'd just like to make sure before we take the next step, and I just thought maybe it was a good idea if you got checked. That is if you haven't already." I rambled blushing tremendously. Harry chuckled making me feel even more embarrassed about asking. My face most likely resembled a tomato, and my heart was pounding against my ribcage. How did I always manage making such an immense fool of myself? Harry grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze smiling at me. Maybe he could tell I was uncomfortable, at least his small gesture calmed me.
"I'm actually happy that you're asking."
"Why?" I was confused.
"Because I like to know that you make sure you're being safe. A lot of people are very careless and are easily transmitted by several STD's. It's nice to hear that you know the risk."
"So you're not annoyed with me for wanting you to get checked?"
"No, but to make you feel better, I can reassure you that I'm fine. I've been to the doctor to have myself tested."
"Really?" My eyes widened, and a smile spread over my lips.
"Yes."
I pecked his lips out of happiness and relief. "Good," I said in a lack of other words. To know there was nothing to worry about made me calm.
