It took less than a week for Harry and I to get back into a relationship after I left my parents'. At first, I had stayed in Gemma's old room as Anne had so kindly let me stay with them for as long as I needed. But every night I would sneak into Harry's room and cuddle myself into his warm body. Luckily, he didn't mind, and he never complained either. He kept me safe, and he kept my haunting nightmares, of a past I would like to forget, at bay. He had told me he needed space yet we found ourselves closer than ever. However, it seemed to be exactly what we both needed. I was happier than I had been in a long time, and he could definitely see that on me.
Spring finally arrived too as if symbolising my changing mood. Everything seemed to be going great apart from the fact that I was no longer on speaking terms with my parents or whatever I should call them. They both seemed like strangers, and though mum had called every day the first two weeks after I left, she finally learned to leave me alone too. Maggie missed me, and I sure as hell missed her too, but she understood why I had left even though she felt like she was losing me. She hated knowing that we were 'only' half sisters, but I reassured her that no matter what happened, we would always be sisters. Therefore, whenever I could find the time, I met with her in the city. I also grew closer to Sophia. Somehow she became the big sister I had never had, and she gave me advice on my relationship with Harry and on my parents. I had told her everything, and she agreed with me that giving it some time and get everything at a distance would probably be for the best. And so I tried to ignore what had happened, and I tried to forget about the news I had discovered. Harry was good at distracting me, and we fought much less around each other. As a matter of fact most of the time, we were just goofing around being our silly selves, and I loved that. After I had informed him about everything I had found in the box he finally understood how messed up my life really was, and I let him know I was working on myself. Jen and I's friendship started changing for the better too and even Gemma and I were on good terms.
"Harry, stop it," I complained.
"You know I like it," he said with a smug grin as he continued staring.
"Is that like a fetish of yours, because I'll tell you, it's weird. Stop staring at me like that when I'm eating."
"But you're adorably cute."
"And you are being awfully annoying."
"I thought I was pretty irresistible."
"You are amazingly irritating."
"What about surprisingly adorable."
"What are we even talking about?"
"We are talking about how smoking hot I am," he teased.
"More like how remarkably stupid you are," I teased and continued eating my oatmeal.
"Aren't I strikingly wonderful?"
"Only if you stop this game right now?"
"What game?"
"The one where you are being a pain in my bum."
He pecked my cheek. "Right, so no complimenting on how gorgeous you are."
"I didn't say that," I said and leaned in to kiss him.
"Good morning you two," Anne said, and we both immediately pulled apart. I blushed and looked at Harry, he was blushing too.
"Goodmorning Anne. Sleep well?"
"Morning, mum."
"Yes thanks, love. You ready for your birthday in two days?" She asked. It was crazy that we were in May already. How time had been flying by so quickly was beyond me, but I was enjoying the good weather, and I was looking forward to summer.
