Recap- Aurora revealed that she is pregnant
____

Shock. Stillness. Disbelief.

Victor stared at her like the world had tilted.

“Did you like the gift, Victor?” Aurora asked, her voice soft but trembling, her eyes brimming with happy tears.

He didn’t answer right away. His gaze was fixed on her, but his mind felt like it had left his body.
Then slowly, very slowly, his lips parted.

“Are you… serious?” he whispered, his voice nearly cracking.

She nodded, a tear slipping down her cheek. She tried to laugh, but it came out breathless.

“I found out last week. I wanted to tell you right away but... I knew your birthday was coming and—”

“Aurora…” he breathed, finally moving, his hand lifting to cup her cheek as if afraid she might vanish if he blinked. “You’re pregnant?”

“Yes,” she whispered. “We’re going to have a baby, Victor.”

His hand trembled against her face. His throat tightened, eyes scanning hers for any sign that this was a dream—a trick. But there was only truth. And love.

His breath hitched.

Then it happened.

His shoulders dropped. His expression crumbled.

A sharp exhale burst from him and he pulled her into his arms tightly—like she was the only thing anchoring him to this earth. His head buried in the crook of her neck. He tried to say something but choked on his own breath.

Aurora felt his tears fall against her skin. Warm. Silent.

He was crying.

She gently rubbed his back, whispering, > “It’s okay… it’s okay…”

But he pulled back just slightly, his hand moving to her stomach. It rested there. Still. Reverent.

“Our child is in here…” he whispered in disbelief. “My child. You’re carrying our baby.”

Then, with the most fragile voice she had ever heard from him:

“I never thought I’d get something like this… I didn’t even know I wanted it this much until you said it.”

She smiled through her tears. “You’ll be an amazing father.”
He let out a soft laugh, still teary. “I don’t know how to be one. But for you—for both of you—I’ll learn. I’ll try. I’ll do everything.”
Then he leaned forward, pressing a kiss to her stomach. A long, gentle one.

“Happy birthday to me,” he whispered.

Then looked up and added with a broken, emotional smile:

“Thank you, Aurora. This… this is the greatest gift anyone’s ever given me.”

Victor's lips trembled with everything he wanted to say but couldn’t put into words. His eyes searched hers like they were trying to memorise this moment
