Recap- Aurora got the labour pain and they rushed to the hospital.
_______

“Ahhh…” Aurora whimpered, her voice cracking from the sharp pain ripping through her lower abdomen. The contractions were hitting her like crashing waves, each one fiercer than the last.

Her trembling hands clutched Victor’s with desperate strength. Her brows were knitted together, sweat clung to her forehead, and her other hand pressed protectively over her swollen belly.

“DRIVE FAST!” Victor’s roar thundered inside the car, his hold tightening around her hand as if he could transfer her pain into himself. He pressed a kiss to her clammy forehead, his lips lingering there longer than needed. His voice was a hoarse whisper against her skin —

“It’ll be fine… you’ll be fine…” He was trying to calm her, but his own voice trembled with fear — it sounded more like he was begging himself to believe it.

Every passing second felt like a punishment. When the car finally screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance, Victor threw the door open before the driver even fully stopped.
Aurora’s eyes were squeezed shut; she hardly registered the swirl of chaos around her.

Strong hands lifted her carefully onto a stretcher. The only thing she felt was his grip — Victor’s warm, tight hold on her fingers, grounding her while her mind spun from the agony.

Hurried footsteps and urgent commands echoed through the gigantic hospital corridor. Nurses and doctors straightened up immediately at the sight of them — the infamous Romano couple. They rushed forward, taking over smoothly.

At the entrance to the delivery ward, a young doctor stepped in front of Victor, blocking his way.

“Sir, you’ll have to wait here—”
His eyes, grey hazel and blazing, fixed on her face like a threat.

“You have no right to stop me — my wife is struggling in there!” he barked through clenched teeth. His anger was raw, unfiltered — but beneath it was the pure ache of a man watching the woman he loved in agony.

The doctor flinched but held her ground. “Sir, please… if you come inside, it will delay the process. I promise we’ll take care of her.”

Victor’s jaw clenched so tight it hurt. For a second, he looked ready to shove past her — but then his eyes flicked to the corridor beyond, where Aurora’s stretcher disappeared behind double doors. He stopped. His shoulders sagged a fraction, but the fury didn’t leave his eyes.

With a sharp nod, he stayed rooted where he was, fists balled, helpless.
Time twisted into torture. Every second dragged by like an hour. He paced, sat, stood again. The world outside that corridor didn’t exist — just those doors, and his heartbeat crashing painfully in his chest.

Victor’s chest heaved as he watched the doors swing shut behind Aurora. For a moment, the world felt brutally silent, save for the echo of his own heartbeat thundering in his ears. He ran a trembling hand through his hair, pacing like a caged animal in the bright, sterile corridor.

His mind replayed her face — the pain etched into her delicate features, her small hand clutching his like a lifeline. The memory made his eyes sting.
One of his guards stepped forward, hesitantly.

“Sir… should I get you some water—”
“Get out of my sight,” Victor snapped, his voice raw, but it broke at the end, betraying the terror beneath his fury.
He sank down onto the cold bench, elbows on his knees, burying his face in his hands.

Please… please… let her be fine. Let them both be fine. He’d faced bullets without blinking, but this — this helpless waiting — was agony.
