Jug and Finesse

I woke up in the morning and stretched. I got out of the covers and headed downstairs to the kitchen. My mama was digging in the cabinets, looking for something. I snuck up behind her and before I could tap and scare her she said, "I wish you would." I laughed. "How did you know I was there?" I asked. "You are not sneaky, come and get this jar for me," she pointed to the glass in the cabinet.

 "How am I supposed to get it?" I asked. "Girl you're taller then me, get on the counter. I don't need to be hopping on no counter, popping my bones," she waved me off. I stood there and gave her a look, "I made you now do as I said," she urged me towards the counter. I hopped on the counter and swung open the cabinet. I grabbed the jar and handed it to her before getting off of the counter.

"Girl you got some injections?" she asked. I raised an eyebrow, "Some what?" I asked. "Injections. You heard what the hell I just god damn said," she over exaggerated her words. "No, why?" I asked, sitting down at the table. "I don't remember you being that thick," she gave me the side eye. "Ma, it's probably just baby fat," I waved her off. "Mhm, looks like a man been doing his job," she mumbled and grabbed the jar.

 "Ma!" I yelled, blushing. "Girl, if you don't lower your voice," she warned and started making coffee. I stayed quiet and swung my legs. "I don't know what you over there looking cute for, you got school," she reminded me. "Oh yeah," I headed up the steps, knowing I had barely twenty minutes to get dressed.

I walked into my closet and grabbed a royal blue hoodie, a pair of black jeans and my Air Jordan 3 Retro Sport Blue's. I put them on and headed to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, flossed, mouth washed and added black lipstick to my lips. I smacked my lips together and headed to the kitchen. My mom looked me up and down and continued to make her coffee. 

She walked over and handed me a travel cup filled to the brim with coffee. I smiled and gave her a side hug, grabbed my book bag and keys and headed out of the door. I slid into my royal blue Honda and took off down the road. I drove to the corner store, grabbed a few snacks, paid and headed to school grounds. I parked and headed into the front door. I walked to my locker and grabbed the books I needed. 

Shantii and Diamond walked towards me. We greeted each other and hugged. Jaylon and Monae walked towards us, boo'd up. Shantii winced and I felt bad for her, I know she hated seeing Jaylon with anyone else besides her, regardless of if they were faking it or not. As soon as Monae and Jaylon was in front of us, Shantii rushed to the bathroom with Diamond right behind her. I couldn't tell if she was acting or serious.

I saw Heaven creeping up, smirking at Monae and Jaylon so close together. When she disappeared, they dropped the act and just stood besides each other. "Shantii left for real or she was just acting?" Jaylon asked. "Acting," I comforted him though I wasn't sure. The bell rung and we went our separate ways.

LUNCH

I grabbed my snacks from my locker and headed to the cafeteria table. Everyone except for Monae and Jaylon were sitting down. I walked over and said hi to everybody. Quinn kissed my cheeks and I smiled before pecking his lips and opening my snack bag. I started popping chip bags when Monae and Jaylon came into the cafeteria. They were wrapped in each other's arms and headed to a separate table. They sat down and started giggling in each other's face. Shantii's shoulders visibly slumped. I rubbed her back.

Heaven came over, like always, and I rolled my eyes. She smirked at Shantii and I sucked my teeth. This bitch always coming over here, wanting to cause problems. It was becoming out of hand. "Aww, they are so cute," Heaven stared at Jaylon and Monae. I looked up and Monae was sitting in Jaylon's lap with her hands locked behind his neck. I saw Trey's balled fist and Shantii's bottom lip trembling, that wasn't an act. "Kinda sucks when somebody takes what's yours, right Shantii?" Heaven smirked. 

If Shantii heard her, she showed no signs. Her eyes were solely focused on Jaylon. "Trey, this must hurt. Jaylon taking Monae away from you, I mean, it must be a lot to handle," she pressed her hand against her heart. I was getting heated by the second. Trey looked like he wanted to punch her straight in her throat and Shantii just looked so lost without Jaylon, it was depressing to watch them.

When Heaven left, I turned to Shantii. "You okay bookie?" I asked. "Yeah, it's like I know it's an act but it still makes my skin crawl. I'm just possessive," she leaned on one elbow and picked with her chips. Shantii without an appetite was very rare so I just knew she was pissed off. "Well then don't look up," Quinn said to Shantii. We both looked up to see Jaylon and Monae pressed tightly together, tonguing each other down.

"Yeah, fuck this," Shantii stood up and marched towards them.
