This is so short but I figured I would make two short one shots today and make a super long one tomorrow.

"Do you miss Mark?" a fan asked, the entire panel room becoming silent. Jack, his daughter Piper, Wade, and Bob were all doing a panel at IndyPopCon, Piper filling in for Mark since he was gone.

"Yeah. Everyday..." Jack said, placing a hand on Piper's leg under the table. She started tearing up, sniffling and wiping her tears. Mark had gotten a call to serve in the Army, not refusing the offer. He had been gone for two years, Piper and Jack praying he would come home safely. The three Skyped often-often meaning twice a month-and Jack would break down crying after every call. Piper would have to be the strong one and comfort him, wishing she never had to see her dad like that.

"Can we please not talk about this?" Piper whispered, the mic barley picking up her voice. Bob reached over and rubbed her shoulder, Piper wiping away a few more tears. The fan walked off stage, the room being so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

"I just miss him." Piper explained. "The terrifying thought that he's out there and may never come home..." Jack started tearing up but blinked tears away, focusing on his daughter.

"But I am home!" a cheery voice yelled, causing Piper and Jack to snap their heads up. A wide smile appeared on both their faces, seeing Mark standing on the stage in his army uniform, tears rolling down his face with a smile.

"OH MY GOD DAD!" Piper yelled, standing up out of her chair and sprinting over to Mark. Mark opened his arms wide and grabbed his daughter, lifting her up off the ground and into his arms. Mark held Piper with one arm as her legs wrapped around his waist while hugging Jack with the other. Mark and Jack kissed for a moment, Piper squeezing the life out of Mark.

"I missed you..." Jack said, his voice cracking.

"I missed you both too." Mark said, chuckling at the end.
