Jack's hearing wasn't the best.

He had declared it before in a video, saying his hearing was pretty much shot from being the drummer in a band. Of course, he always had his headphones on full volume too, along with blasting his music when he was on flights or walking around town. A ringing was always present, but he taught himself to tune it out. He could only hear it when it was quiet, especially when he was trying to sleep; which is why he always stayed up late.

Then he moved in with his boyfriend, Mark.

Mark never minded Jack always having to have the TV on while they slept. Or even having the fan going at full speed so the motor would slightly rattle. Mark actually enjoyed the noise; cuddling close to Jack and hearing the melodious sound of his breathing.

Then the power bill went up so they had to stop.

Jack just simply couldn't sleep without noise. He hated the ringing, and it drove him to insanity when he couldn't have any background noise. He started to tune the noise back in, and he wouldn't sleep.

Then one night that all changed.

"Sean?" Mark asked, his voice deep from waking up.

Jack buried his face in Mark's chest and squeezed him. "I can't sleep, Mark."

Mark pulled his boyfriend closer. "Is it the ringing again?" Jack winced and nodded, Mark feeling the movement against his body.

Jack flipped around on his side and Mark pulled him flush against his chest, gently wrapping his arms around the younger mans waist. Mark nuzzled his head in Jack's hair, Sean rubbing his fingers over Mark's arms.

"You're so beautiful..." Mark whispered, kissing the back of Jack's neck.

"I love you so much." Mark started. Jack got an idea of what his boyfriend was doing.

"You're the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me." Mark continued, Jack's eyes drooping as he spoke.

Mark continued on until he felt Jack's breathing even out, smiling in his victory.

Since then, Mark would always talk to Jack to have him sleep. Mark would talk about anything; his day, a new game on Steam, what he ate, just anything.

Mark's voice was Jack's lullaby, and Jack loved every second of it.
