I tried a different writing style and I'm not very sure about it. Opinions are great on it! Along with requests!

The rain pattered outside on the sidewalk, along with falling on the windows and leaving tracks. It almost appeared as if the sky was crying, its marks staying on the Earth for only a limited time. As if when the water went away, so did the emotions. It may sound complicated, but it was simple.
Oh, so, simple.
Especially for Mark Fischbach. He sat in the living room of him and his boyfriend's shared apartment, a game of checkers sitting in the middle of the two. One candle was placed on either side of the board, illuminating the small room. Mark gently smiled as he saw how the small flames shown on his lovers face, making him seem more attractive than usual. Mark's significant other, Jack, was laying on his stomach as he moved his piece, jumping two of Mark's.
"Jack!" Mark whined, playfully pouting and crossing his arms over his chest. "Why did you do that?"
"Because, Mark." Jack said, reaching over and grabbing the two red circles. "That's how checkers works!" Mark changed his position and laid on his stomach as well, moving his red piece to the end of Jack's side, flipping it over so the side with the small, indented crown was showing. Mark leaned up and gently kissed Jack's forehead, letting his lips linger as faint red danced across Jack's cheeks.
"Aw," Mark said softly-using his deep voice-kissing Jack's nose, "my baby boy is blushing." Jack's face became even more red, the appearance showing in the candlelight easily. Jack leaned forward and kissed Mark's lips, both of them smiling gently into the gesture.
It was times like this when Mark was grateful for simple moments like this. His beautiful boyfriend with the pitter patter of rain outside. Along with the candles gently lighting up the room while the two played a boring game-but somehow made it exquisitely fun. They were just there to appreciate each other, and nothing made Mark happier.
Jack pulled away and Mark scooted back to his spot, throwing a wink at Jack and smiling. Jack bit his lip and giggled, looking down at the board. Mark chuckled at his reaction, watching as Jack moved his piece and jumped another one of Mark's.
"Really, babe?!" Mark exclaimed.
"Yep!" Jack said, laughing at the end.
