Hey everyone, it's Pey here. I don't normally do authors notes, but this is serious.

I've recently been informed that other people on Wattpad-and maybe other sites, I'm not sure yet-have been stealing my character.

That character is Piper.

I get that people like her. It's just I've spent a lot of time on creating her and making her different from every other character I've created, and it's very rude-and semi illegal-to just steal someone's idea. That's called copyright, and copyright is illegal.

Like J said, if you want to write something based on a story idea, then please DM us and ask.

But if you ask to use my character, J and I are saying no.

Many people are thinking that Piper is someone else's idea, and in all honesty, that pisses me off because half the time J or I are not even given credit.

If any of you see books using Piper, please DM us and tell us, because at this point I'm very mad.

It's not even hard to make your own characters! You can go to a freaking baby name website and find one that you like and base your character from that! It's not o-freaking-kay to steal ideas and characters from other people.

Don't say: "well I'm not creative and I really struggle with making plots and characters so it's easier to take someone else's"

You can look up writing prompts online for plots! You can make your own character! It's not that freaking hard!

I struggled too with making characters and plots, and look where I am now. I have over 1,000 reads on one of my books on my personal profile, and I'm pretty damn proud of that.

Stop saying you can't and actually put effort into making something of your own before you take someone's creation.

Please be original. It's not okay or cool to take other people's ideas. It's rude and immature. And I know I probably sound immature, but I'm always immature, and being mad just makes me sound like I'm a 5 year olds throwing a fit.

Which in a way I am.

[small update from J: already contacted wattpad support with evidence of our book and other books and they clearly said it violated community guidelines. We're not copyrighting the name in any way, but when the exact same personality, prompt, behavior, and way of speaking comes into place then that's what is not okay. We never wanted the official name for the fandom's child to be Piper, and that's how we want to keep it]
