Fiona’s POV

When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I did was check my phone to see if I had gotten an answer from Vinny. After going through my threads, I saw that he didn’t reply. Poor thing, I felt really bad for him. I hated the double standards that society demonstrated. It just wasn’t fair, but I guess some things couldn’t be helped. I got out of bed and showered, getting dressed quickly in shorts and a simple shirt.  I went downstairs and got a bowl of cereal for breakfast, eating while watching some early morning shows. When I finished, I put the bowl in the sink and was on my way to school. Only a few weeks left. Being a senior felt so unreal now; everything was coming to an end.  I never could really understand why some people cried at graduation, but now that my own graduation was approaching me I could just feel everything coming to a close as the end came near. Everything I’d worked for was a going to be paid off soon, and then it was off to college.

I arrived at school and parked in my regular parking spot, hurrying quickly inside the building to see if Vinny was waiting for me in the front like he usually did, but I didn’t see him. I didn’t think text messages would do at this point, so I pulled my phone out and called him. The phone rang several times, but he didn’t pick up. I called once more, but it was the same result. I frowned and put my phone back in my purse as I walked off to class by myself.  Classes flew by as they usually did, and by lunch time I was starving. I went through the line and got my food, and still didn’t see Vinny anywhere. Well with him not here, and Kim being infuriated with me, I had no one to sit with; I had sat with them all year. Looking around, I finally spotted Mandy and Felecia, some girls that I used to sit with last year. They were also sitting with a couple of boys. Feeling like there was nowhere else for me to sit and not be by myself, I walked over to the table. There were a few empty seats, but none of them were next to the girls. I finally decided to take one next to a boy with short, curly, brownish hair. Mandy immediately stopped talking, looking to me.

“Hey Mandy.”  I smiled. That immediately got everyone within that circles’ attention on me. I blushed from all the attention.

“Fiona, it’s been a long time.” she said as she got up to hug me across the table.  Felecia smiled at me too, and also gave me a hug. They both had cut their hair; they used to have long blonde hair, but now it was just past their shoulders.  They introduced me to the guys at the table, an d I greeted them as well.

The guy that I sat beside took a liking to me I guess. His face would flush every time he looked at me. He was one of those adorable types of guys. He had a caramel skin tone, which made his light gray eyes more intense. He had dimples on both sides of his cheeks and smooth-looking skin.  He was just adorable. I learned from Mandy that his name was Marcus, and the other two boys were Oliver and Joey. I was halfway done with my lunch when my lunch tray was suddenly snatched from underneath me. I looked up, seeing Matt standing over me. He tossed the tray of food on the ground, peering down at me angrily.

“Where is Vincent?” he asked.

“I don’t know. What’s it to you anyway?”

“Because, I was going to tease him today, but for some reason the pansy isn’t here. Hm, maybe you warned him that I was going to go hard on him today?” I laughed, shaking my head.

“Look Matt, I don’t know if you’ve forgotten our little conversation yesterday, but if you dare do anything to him again, just beware that I am adamant on my threat that I made to yesterday. I will kick your ass and embarrass you. Leave Vinny alone.”

“Vinny?” he laughed. “Sounds like a girl’s name, he is a fag.”

“I know what you’re trying to do, but you aren’t going to get a rise out of me.” I said calmly.
