It's been two years and I'm getting married. Wow. Everything feels like it's going so quickly. Nothing is going slow. I looked in the mirror and stared at myself. "You're still not cool." I said to myself. I was happy about that. I decided to stop trying.

I fixed my bow tie and walked to my spot. "Hey there." a guy said. I turn around and look at him. "I'm a friend of Mabel. I'm Ray." He put out his hand and I shook it. "Hello." I said. He had big hair that was poofy. I guess he was a groomsmen because he stood behind me. I saw my best friend Frank coming and standing in front of Ray.

I looked over to the band who was going to play the music. I never imagined me being married.

"What's on your face." Frank whispered to me. "Something I call eyeliner." I whispered back. "I like it, give me some." he demanded. I thought I was sassy.

I reached in my pocket and handed it to him. He turned around and put it on. "Does it look good.?" he whispered. "Yeah." I said with a chuckle.

I heard the band begin and I stood still with my back straight and my fingers intertwined with each other.

Everyone stood up when Mabel came out. She looked so beautiful. She was walking down and then stood in front of me.

"You look beautiful." I whispered to her. He chuckled and covered her face with one hand, holding her bouquet with her other. "Let's begin." the priest said as he cleared his throat.

...

Mabel started cutting the cake as everyone took pictures. Out of no where she smudged cake in my face. I pulled her in for a kiss to get cake on her. "Stop it Gee.!" she laughed as I kissed her.

After we cleaned up, some people started leaving. That was the sign that the party was almost over.

"Mabel. This is my best friend, Frank." I said as I introduced her to Frank. "Hello m'lady." Frank said as he kissed her hand. "Hello Frank." she said with a chuckle. After everyone left, we all decided to pitch in and clean up.

"Where's your family.?" Ray asked as he picked up the dishes. I froze. I didn't want all the attention to me and I continued. "They couldn't come." I said holding back a tear. That technically wasn't a lie. "How come I never met them." Mabel asked as she took off her veil. "Business trips." I lied. "Ohhh, I see." she said. Phew.

We went home and had to get the tools from the back of Frank's truck. We decided to fix up the house. The house was a little beaten down. There was heavy rain and snowstorms. The house wasn't in good condition compared to the rest of the houses on the block.

I grabbed paint cans as Mabel grabbed the wood and set it down next to the mailbox. "Are you sure you guys don't need help.?" Frank asked as him and Ray stand outside of his car. "We're sure. You guys have helped enough." Mabel said with a chuckle. "Alright." Ray said as he got in Frank's truck and drove off.

We took a look at the house.

"This will take a life time." Mabel sighed.

We decided to get started right away.

The sooner you do it. The sooner you get it done.

We went inside and took down the wooden planks that were boarded up. We replaced them with fresh ones.

Once the house was done with the wood, we had to paint the outside. The house was a two story so it was going to take a while. Good thing Frank had a ladder. "I'll take the top of the house, you take the bottom." I said as I grabbed the ladder. "Alright, be careful." she said as she gave me a peck on the lips.

I climbed up with a paint can in my hand. This was such a work out. Plus the sun was beaming in my face. I was glad I wasn't stick thin like when I was younger.

I set the can on the roof top and laid on the roof to get catch my breath. I didn't do it for long since the roof was like a frying pan to me. I stood up hoping that I wouldn't fall through.

I forgot the paint brush.

Time to go back down.

I walked down the ladder and caught my breath again. "Got tired.?" Mabel asked as she painted the wall. "Tell me about it." I said as I got the brush and went back up the ladder. I caught my breath once again. I opened the can and dipped my brush in there and got started.

Once I was done with the entire roof, I still had to do the wall that was close to the roof. Mabel was done with the walls all around but on the bottom. I got down and lowered the ladder. I climbed up the ladder and noticed I had no where to put the paint can. I reached over and tried to set it on the window. Good thing the window was open. I couldn't really reach but I knew it was possible. I looked down and saw that it was right under Mabel. I decided to just move the ladder so I could place it there instead of pouring paint all over her wedding dress and knocking her out. Before I could lean back I slipped and caught myself by the shutter.

Success.! I got the can on the window.! Yes.! I dipped my brush and started painting.

Once the house was down on the outside, the sun was going down. The roof was dry so me and Mabel went to the roof. We sat down and watched the sunset. The sky was colliding with colors of red, orange and yellow. Like water colors splashed around.

She leaned her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arm around her. Her dress was sleeveless, so I took off my suit jacket and wrapped it around her. I never could've been happier.
