Cole's head tipped up at the sound of rolling gravel. His eyes catching the metal canned bus hurtling towards him as he leant against the front of his jeep. He squinted his eyes as the bus rolled to a stop a little away from him, causing the loose dirt to spread around the air surrounding him. When his vision cleared, a smile dawned his features at the sight of the brunette exiting the bus, a duffel slung over his shoulder.

"Wow. Look at you." Cole called out as Alex moved towards him. His oversized dark brown Cowboy hat hiding his features from his older brother.

"What?" Alex scoffed back. Feeling a little confused at his brother's bewilderment.

Cole reached forward, grasping a hold of Alex's duffle as he lifted its weight and placed it on the floor beside him. "You look like a real cowboy. All tanned and rugged like that."

Alex laughed lightly, his eyes raking over the blonde who stood in a white tee and faded blue jeans. "Whereas you look like you stayed underground all summer."

Cole scoffed, his arms unfolding and refolding themselves across his chest unconsciously. "Summer school didn't give me a lot of time to work on my tan." He explained, but his smile remained on his features. "How was Montana?" He changed the subject.

"Good." Alex answered a little too quickly. "It was good. I learned a lot. I thought Mom was coming to get me." Alex looked past Cole, confusion written over his face.

"Something came up." Cole answered mysteriously. "So you're stuck with us." He added, moving with the duffel towards his truck bed.

"Us?" Alex questioned, his brows furrowing as he followed his brother, jumping slightly when another figure moved their head out of the cab to speak.

"Come on you two, George has dinner ready and I bet you're hungry Alex." The voice ordered somewhat seriously as Cole rounded the back of the truck and Alex gaped from the window.

"Bex?" He laughed out, confusion evident as he looked at the blonde behind the wheel.

"Did you miss me?" She smiled back, her arms resting on the rolled down window's edge as she looked at Alex.

"You bet!" He beamed, his smile reaching his eyes before faltering slightly. "Is uh-" He trailed off, his eyes glancing between Bex and his brother who was now seated beside her inside the truck.

"No. It's uh- it's just me." Bex reassured, a sad tone evident as she spoke. "But seriously, we gotta... go." She changed the subject, moving it swiftly away from her sister.

Bex had tried her best to not think about Jackie over the summer. Ever since Richard dragged her back to New York she refused to leave her room. Without a phone, she relied heavily on Danny to keep in contact with Cole who was livid when she explained everything to him. Two weeks after they went back, Richard left for Spain. Something work related. She spoke to Katherine and George and they agreed to get her from the airport and she made her escape the next day. She and Jackie left things on relatively rocky terms.

"Yeah," Alex's voice dragged Bex from her thoughts. "I'm starving. I haven't eaten since Wyoming."

"Lets go then." Cole nodded, settling back onto the bench seat.

"You're not driving?" Alex questioned, his head tipping to the side.

"No. She is." Cole responded, his eyes closed as he hummed in response.

Bex cheered as Parker got another point for their team.

"Come on Isaac! Keep your form up, don't let them get past you." Cole ordered, desperately trying to keep his cousin's spirit up as the other team destroyed them.
