Bex sat comfortably in her seat at the family dinner inside Monty's. George and will took up their respective heads of the table, Cole sitting closely beside his oldest brother with Bex at his side. She turned her head as Nathan laughed on her left at something Lee and Alex had said. Danny sat next to Alex and his father, completing their row. Bex felt a small tap on her shin, looking over the table to see Parker balancing a bread roll on her nose as she giggled. Both Benny and Isaac laughed at her antics from either side. Jordan was a little quieter, sulking beside Jackie as the girl conversed with Katherine. The older woman smiled, standing up as she prepared her toast to the group.

"Guys. I just want to say how happy I am that we're all here... together. And Alex and Danny, we missed you so much this summer." Katherine smiled as she looked on at her two sons.

"Not me. I like the quiet. " George spoke from behind his soda can, receiving a slap to the back of his head from his wife.

"And Jackie..." Katherine continued, looking down at the girl beside her. "We're so happy that you're home."

"Yeah, I missed you, Jackie." George smiled, raising his can. "Jackie's back!"

"To Jackie." Katherine spoke up.

"To Jackie." Everyone replied.

"This is better than boarding school, right?" Danny smirked as he drank, causing confused looks to adorn the table. Bex sighed as the questions started.

"What did he say?" Isaac piped up.

"She was gonna go to boarding school?" Nathan asked, turning to the blonde beside him.

"All that matters is that she's here now." Bex spoke up, causing an end to the discussion as Coach Allen approached the table beside Cole.

"Cole, great play you gave Isaac on the field today." The coach complimented.

"Mm, no, that wasn't me." Cole dismissed with a wave of his hand.

"Come on. I know a Cole Walter play when I see it. You know, if you're interested, the assistant coach position is still available." Allen smiled, hope reflecting in his eyes.

"Thanks. Yeah, I don't think so." Cole shook his head.

"All right. Enjoy your evening." Allen smiled, waving goodbye to the group as he left, pizza box in hand.

"Are you crazy? That's a good opportunity." Isaac scoffed out across the table at Cole.

"I don't know." Cole shrugged.

"You okay?" Bex spoke quietly, looking up at him as he leant his elbows on the table.

"Yeah. Fine." He nodded, flashing her a small smile.

"Danny, what are you thinking? No phones at the table!" Katherine's voice drew everyone's attention towards the older twin.

"Sorry." Danny apologised, stuffing his phone in his pocket.

"He's been texting some girl back in New York ever since he got home." Cole called across the table prompting everyone to break out in cheers. Bex smirked, locking eyes with Danny as he looked away sheepishly

"Good for you, Danny boy." Lee beamed.

"Our boy's growing up!" Nathan laughed.

Bex sat up in her bed at the sound of knocking on their door. She looked at Jackie who was still engrossed in her text book at her desk so called out to their visitor.

"It's open." She called, resting her back against her head board as Katherine walked into the room.

"I thought I'd just check in with you both. I know today was a little tricky, huh?" Katherine spoke softly, sitting on the edge of Bex's bed as Jackie shut her book and walked over to join them.

"Yeah." Jackie answered honestly. "I guess it will take a while. And I tried to get into driver's ed today, and it was full." She sighed

Bex's curiosity piped up, turning her head to her sister. "You want to learn how to drive?"

" Yeah. I want to help out where I can with the younger ones." Jackie responded.

"Oh, Jackie, you're so thoughtful. It would be great to have another driver but that's not your job. Either of you." Katherine smiled, a little sadly. "It's getting late so I'll leave you two alone. Good night girls." She said, standing and moving to the door

"Good night." They both responded, waiting for Katherine to softly shut the door behind her.

Bex shuffled onto her knees, facing Jackie who moved to put her books away. "You don't have to be useful to be welcome." The girl spoke softly.

"I wanna contribute, be a part of the family." Jackie countered.

"You already are." Bex sighed, "Listen it was hard on everyone knowing you didn't wanna be around them even for a little while. And everyone understands that you needed some space, but some people are going to have their feelings about that, and that might take a little time." She explained, her voice gentle.

"Yeah. I spoke to Alex, and we officially broke up." Jackie huffed, flopping onto her back on her own bed.

"Oh Jackie I'm sorry." Bex frowned as she lay on her own bed.

"I guess it's for the best." Jackie spoke after a few moments of silence, turning her back on her sister.

Bex looked up with a soft groan as Cole nudged her yet again. His attempts at trying to distract her from studying were starting to work, and she had to get her assignment done if she was going to be allowed to stay on the running team.

Cole smirked at her, gesturing across the room to his brother's bed where Danny sat oblivious to the two as he texted on his phone, a large grin on his face.

Cole tore off a sheet of his notepad, balling it up and tossing it to hit Danny square in the face. He jumped, closing his phone as he turned to glare at the two blondes laughing at him.

"What's making you so happy?" Cole asked, kicking his feet up against the headboard, his shoulder touching Bex's.

"Oh, nothing. Nothing." Danny deflected, quickly changing the conversation. "So, um. Did you hear that Alex and Jackie officially broke up?" He asked.

"Yeah." Bex nodded.

"Have you talked to her? I just um... I know how much she missed you this summer." Danny explained.

"You're right." Bex sighed. "She wouldn't talk much last night. I'm gonna try again." She said, making her way to the door. She turned back, pointing at Cole who turned his pen between his fingers. "Keep studying. I'll be back."

Bex walked out of the room and downstairs without waiting for a reply. Cole's distant groan being satisfactory enough.

Katherine caught the girl on the downstairs landing before she could make it to the front door.

"Bex, sweetie. Jackie is moving all of these boxes into the barn, would you mind grabbing one off the porch and helping her?" The woman smiled.

"Yeah sure." Bex nodded, picking up one of Katherine's art supply boxes and heading to the barn where Jackie shuffled some more boxes into a corner.

"This was on the porch. Katherine said you were moving them all in here." Bex spoke up, causing her sister to turn to her.

"Yeah. It's time I finally decorated my half of the room and made it my own." Jackie smiled.

"You got that right." Bex smiled. Maybe if Jackie was doing better, then everything would soon go back to normal.

She hoped.
