"This is gonna look so cute on you." Grace squealed as she threw the white cowboy hat at Bex who still lay in her bed. "Here, try it on." She pleaded.

"I don't wanna go." Bex groaned, turning over and covering her head with the covers. The bags under her eyes were very prominent after the previous two sleepless nights with her mind being haunted by the blonde Walter brother.

"You have to." Jackie pleaded as she looked through outfits on the rack at the other end of the room.

"Look, the county fair is part of your assimilation into Silver Falls life. You should look the part." Grace explained, turning to Jackie as she scoured for more clothes.

"I don't think Alex cares if my outfit screams hoedown or not." Jackie contested. "I think he has more important things on his mind."

"Like?" Grace questioned.

"Like competing."

"And what's your excuse?" Grace turned to the blonde as she whipped the covers off the girl who groaned.

"You mean aside from avoiding Cole Walter who is just so awful?" She groaned.

"People say horrible things when they're drunk." Jackie smiled sadly at the girl as she sat on the bed.

"No, they say honest things." Bex corrected. "And Cole said he wishes I'd never moved here."

"Yeah, well, maybe it's like, uh, you know, a boy tugs on your pigtails, it's actually because he likes you." Grace smiled causing the girl to throw the pillow over her head. "You need to go talk to him."

"I've tried." Her muffled response sounded from under the pillow.

"Try again." Grace replied, her back turned away. "Okay, I have an idea. Look, these will fit you." She pulled out a pair of cowgirl boots from her bag and handed them to the blonde. "Ah! Come on. Let's try them on. Let's see."

"I'm not sure I can pull those off. Maybe you should wear them." Bex replied as she sat up.

"No, the county fair is, like, the one time of year my parents let me stay out past curfew, which means my fashion choices carry mega weight." Grace explained.

"Well," Jackie trailed off, running to the rack of clothes and pulling out a rainbow and floral printed dress. "what about... this?" Grace gasped as Jackie presented the dress to her. " It was Lucy's. I think she'd really love for you to wear it."

"Oh my God. Are you sure? Thank you." Grace beamed, taking the dress from the younger girl. "Okay, I'll wear this as long as you wear this." She plopped the hat onto Bex's head as they laughed.

"Hey. Poulticed his legs this morning. Put electrolytes in his grain. He's good to go." Cole explained, running his hand up the horses back as he spoke to his brother.

"What about his shipping boots? Was he wearing those on the ride over?" Alex micro-managed as he looked over the horse.

"This might be your first rodeo..." Cole smiled before Alex cut him off.

"This is why I don't want you as my groom. You don't take anything seriously." He replied, a frown on his face as he crossed his arms.

"I did everything on your damn checklist and then some."  Cole snapped, his temper on a thin rope already. "Okay? Hey, how about a "thank you, Cole" for working all damn morning." Cole stalked a few paces away before turning his head over his shoulder. "And he rode over in his shipping boots."
