Chapter 7: Wrong thought

My heart is beating so fast and I can feel that I’m a bit nervous. Why will he go to us? Does he also know about that 100 airplanes thing? Will he approach me and say that I’m his soul mate or what?

My heart is beating faster when he is like a couple of centimeters from us. Sweats are starting to come off in my body, I can see that I’m feeling nervous and I don’t know what to do. I want to hide in a hole or just run as fast as I can because in this kind of moment, I get really awkward and like a turtle that hides in its shell.  But my heart dropped in shock when he just passed us by. I then realized that his friend is calling him which is also at the park and just near to us. What the hell! I’m such a feeler!

“Hey Paul!” said that guy friend he is with now.

“What’s up?” Paul said.

“Can you help me with some of my school projects?” said that guy.

“Sure! Let’s just do that in my house. Let’s go!” Paul said and walking away from us.

As I realized that he’ll not come towards me or us, I felt a bit of embarrassment in myself. He doesn’t know me that much so why will he approach me like this. Maybe I just really rely on that soul mate thing and from this very moment, I think I should stop believing to it or just don’t care. If he is really my soul mate then whatever will happen, we will end up as a couple. I should erase him in my mind. 

“Izzy!” Juliette shouted in my ears.

“Hey! Are you trying to destroy my eardrums? What’s the matter?” I said to her and glared.

“Are you still here with us? Your neck is like breaking apart because of you, looking back at that Paul-slash-soul mate?” Juliette said and they all burst out laughing.

“Whatever!” I said rolling my eyes.

“Do you already have feelings for him?” Elizabeth asked me in quite serious tone.

“You know, I still haven’t known him for so long. It’s just a very little chit chat and plus, HE IS NOT MY TYPICAL GUY THAT I’VE DREAMED OF. Can you please stop this illusion or else I will go crazy!” I said and grabbed my phone and play some app there.

“Okay! Whatever you say.” She asked and grabbed a pack of chips.

“By the way girls, were you already informed that this coming party on Saturday, all of us should have a date! So, had you already thought on who’s going to be your date?” Michelle asked while making a messy bun, it’s indeed very hot this day.

“WHAT???” we all asked in unison except for Michelle of course.

“But, I don’t have any boyfriend or someone who’ll-“Nathalie said but she had been interrupted by Elizabeth.

“But you have Andrew, the one you’re always with and your only guy best friend!” Elizabeth said.

“But… I don’t know if he’ll go with me, we don’t know. Maybe he already has a date!” Nathalie said and sighed.

“He’ll go with you, of course! He likes you a lot and I know, deep down inside… you like him too. You’re just denying it!” Juliette said and smirked.
