Chapter 23: Life is a Mess

Michelle’s POV:

I woke up very early today because I’m going out with Tyler. I felt a bit guilty because I refused Nathalie’s offer to hang out. I really don’t know what’s happening to me, a lot of people told me that I’ve changed a lot. I think I’m slowly losing my friends for no actual reason.

“Hey love, you’re done?” Tyler asked behind my room’s door.

“Yeah, I’m coming.” I opened the door and saw his adorable face ever.

We went to the park to freshen up ourselves and talk everything. We were having a lot of fun when I saw Izzy and her cheerleading friends. I’m sure she saw me.

“Michelle, I have something to ask.” Tyler said in a serious tone.

“What is it?” I looked at his eyes.

“What’s happening with you and your girls? You all act like strangers.”  He said and holds my hand.

“To be honest, I really don’t know. Since the day that Elizabeth and Juliette left our group, everything has changed.” I replied and lower my tone.

“And yesterday why did you act like that? Izzy hugged you when she saw you at the hallway. It’s just confusing because before, whenever you see your girls you’ll run towards them and hug them.” He said and looked to where Izzy is.

“Because you’re with me and that’s just awkward. But I don’t understand myself.” I said and hugged him.

“Michelle, I think you should talk to Izzy and your girls until it’s not yet too late. They’re great best friends of yours and I don’t want you to lose them because of me.” He said and smiled at me.

I decided to go to Izzy and talk to him. I’m quite nervous and I don’t really know what to say.

They were having a great time when I went there.

“Izzy, can we talk for a moment?” I asked, quite nervous.

“Hey acquaintance! What’s up?” She said and we distance ourselves to her other friends.

“Acquaintance?” I asked in shocked. We’re practically best friends.

“Yes, since you ignore me every time and you seem like you don’t care on what’s happening in our friendship… there’s no reason for me to call you my best friend.” She said and I can see in her eyes that she’s mad.

“I’m sorry.” I said.

“Sorry? You always brought us down. You always treated us like an option. Michelle, we’re your best friends and like a sisters to you. But I think you don’t appreciate our existence in your life. I can’t blame you; you’re too busy with your boyfriend.” She said and looked at Tyler.

“He’s my boyfriend, he’s important.” I replied and sighed.

“Yes of course, he’s important in your life. But it doesn’t mean that you’ll just ignore us and forget the friendship we used to have just because of your love life. We’ve been here for you since the beginning, and you’ll treat us like shit? No way, I’m done. Have fun with your life with your perfect boyfriend.” She then walked away from me and went to her friends.

It feels like I’m breaking apart. Our best friendship was turned into worst. Our life is a mess right now. I don’t understand why we’re experiencing this. Kimberly is fighting for her life, Elizabeth and Juliette left our group, I was slowly fading away from them, everybody hates me now. I need to reevaluate my life.
