Chapter 16: Don't Change the Topic

“Hey! Can I have your autograph?” I looked back to see who said it and I saw Paul with a pen and paper.

“Are you for real?” I asked him laughing.

“Why would I be joking? Your yesterday’s performance was amazing! You nailed it!” He said to me smiling.

“Well…. Thanks. And I was shocked to see your banner yesterday.” I said to him and signed my autograph.

“From now on, I’ll be your number fan! I know you have tons of fans but I’m the massive one!” He said laughing.

“There’s something new to you, huh. You’re not the same Paul everybody used to know. You’re now literally talking to me like we’re close!” I said tapping her back.

“Actually, you’re the first friend that I have if you think I’m your friend.” He said in a serious tone.

“OMG really? But I saw you last time talking to some students here.” I said and we both sat in a bench… since the bell is not yet ringing, we still have some time to talk.

“They’re not really my friends, they just asking for some help in academics.” He said and vowed.

“Then I’m so grateful to be your first friend! They don’t know what they’re missing out!” I smiled at him.

“Thanks, I thought you’re that kind of girl who is snobby just because she’s popular. I shouldn’t have thought that.” He looked at me.

“I hate it because a lot of people think I’m one of those girls in movies that were like mean and snob.” I replied.

Our conversation was interrupted when the bell rang.

“Oops! We have to go now. See you at some other time!” I smiled at him and walked away.

It was break time and I’m alone walking towards when my girls jumped in front of me.

“There you are! We’ve been looking you since before the first class! Where have you been? Don’t tell me you have new group of girls who is much cooler than us?” Michelle pushed me beside.

“I’m sorry; I didn’t see you all lately.” I said not looking to them.

“Then who’s with you on that time?” Juliette asked me, made me chin up.

“Girls! Are you investigators???” I asked them and laughed a bit.

“Well, we’re trying to be. Who knows, maybe someday that will be our profession! So tell us.” Juliette made a half smile.

“I’m with Paul. We had a chit chat.” I replied in a blank face.

“WITH PAUL!?” They all shouted in unison.

The crowd looked at us strangely; we didn’t realize that we’re in the middle of the hallway.

“Yes, with Paul. What’s the matter?” I replied and in a soft voice while we went on a side.

“Okay, I get it. It’s because of Paul.” Elizabeth said while comforting me beside.

“But-“

“You don’t have to explain. We understand. That’s your choice; let’s go to the canteen now.” Nathalie said and they all smiled and nodded at me. I was very confused with these girls, they are very assuming.

“Hey girls!” Blake jumped in front of us.

“What the hell are you doing here?”  Juliette rolled her eyes.

“Is it a crime to talk to all of you? And besides Juliette, I’m not talking to you. I’m talking to them!” He stepped closer to Juliette and smiled.

“Jerk!!! Girls, let’s go now.” Juliette grabbed my hands and the girls followed us as well.

“You can’t get rid of me!!!” Blake shouted from a distance.

“You both are so cute!” Elizabeth said, teasing.

“What’s cute there? You all are crazy!” Juliette rolled her eyes once again.

“Guys, just try to understand Juliette. She just can’t get over the fact that last night at the party, Blake said ‘I love you’ to her!” Michelle said and burst out laughing.

“You can’t keep your mouth shut, can you?” Juliette said in a very annoyed tone.

“What!!!! Blake loves you? OMG Juliette! I thought you were the worst enemies in the history of the worst enemies???” Nathalie said.

“He’s just drunk. Can we change this topic?” Juliette folded her arms.

“Girls, look! Juliette is blushing!” I said, we all burst out laughing.

“I’m not! It’s just the effect of my blush on.  I thought we’re going to the canteen?” She said not looking at us.

“You can’t hide your feelings to us and don’t change the topic!” We all burst out laughing while Juliette is looking very annoyed at us.
