Chapter 15: Show off Our Talent

The weekend went by so fast. Today is a special day in school because there will be a ‘talent search’ and the finals of volleyball girls’ competition. My friends and I are so excited because Juliette and Michelle are part in the talent search and we will be supporting Nathalie for her competition in volleyball and I, in cheerleading… and well, Elizabeth is not here because she’s having a seminar about the ‘care for nature’ thing.

“Hey girls, are you all ready for the talent search?” Juliette asked us.

“Why girls with S? You and Michelle are the only one who’ll be in the talent search but I guess Michelle is ready!” Nathalie said and tapped Michelle at the back.

“But you and Izzy will also going to show off your talents in the volleyball and cheerleading competition!” Juliette rolled her eyes to Nathalie.

“Whatever! Let’s rock this school with our girl power!!!” Nathalie said in a loud tone.

“HELL YEAH!!!” We all shouted and the people stared strangely at us.

“Whoops! Let’s go now?” I said and we all walked by going to gym hall.

We are chatting when we were interrupted by an announcement call.

“Students, go now to the theater room… the talent search will going to start in a few minutes!!!”

“OMG I’m so nervous!!!” Juliette said shaking her hands.

“Same here, I don’t know if I can do this!” Michelle added.

“Just take a deep breath and be yourselves. Do your best and no matter what happen we’re proud of you both and you’re all talented!” I said to them and smiled.

They all nodded and we went to the theater room which is a bit near to the gym hall.

“Okay students, since I guess you’re all here… we’re now going to start the talent search! As soon as I call your name, go here and show off what you’ve got!” said one of the teachers in school.

So, the first one up… Juliette Paige.

“You can do it, Julie!” We shouted as she stepped on the stage, she smiled back at us.

“So Juliette, before you go on with your talent, can you tell us a bit something about yourself?” one of the ‘judges’ said.

“Hi everyone! I’m Juliette, I’m junior here, I love music, and playing with different kinds of instruments is my hobby.”

After she said that, she then proceeded to her talent. She sings ‘More Than This’ by One Direction and started playing her piano.

The rhythm and her voice blew us away. She really has a lovely and stunning voice. I can see how amazed the judges and the audiences were in the middle of her talent. And as soon as she’s done with her talent, the judges and the audiences gave her a big round of applause and a standing ovation.

She ran towards us and gave us a big hug.

“I did it! I can’t believe that I really did it! Thank you guys for the support!” She hugged as again.

“We’re so proud of you Julie!” we said and smiled at her.

We are talking so happily when we were interrupted by the host of the talent search.

“And the next one up is… Michelle Brooke!”

“Rock that stage Michelle!!!!” we all shouted as she stepped on the stage.

“Hello everybody! I’m Michelle, a junior here and my hobby is painting because through it I express my personality and outlook in life.” She smiled to the judges and winked at us.

She then started to paint while singing ‘Fearless’. I can see that the judges were shocked when she sang. She is already popular for being excellent in painting but they don’t know that she’s really a great singer at the same time.

After a few minutes, we were amazed on what we saw. She painted a couple in a paradise watching the sunset… it is really indeed spontaneous! She did it in a few minutes while singing.

The whole crowd gave her a standing ovation and she ran towards us.

She hugged us all and started crying.

“I’m so nervous while on the stage. I can’t believe I can do it!!!” She said while tears are falling from her eyes.

“You did a great job, girl!” We said and hugged her even more.

“Nathalie, Izzy… the competition is about to start. I think you have to go to the gym hall now.” Andrew interrupted us.

“Thanks Andrew. We’ll be there in a few.” Nathalie smiled.

We ran towards the gym hall and I saw the crowd cheering at us, having banners saying ‘Go Izzy’ and ‘Go Nathalie’. We’re so lucky to have a lot of people supporting us.

I was shocked when I saw Paul handing a very big banner saying; “I’M A BIG OF IZZY HARWOOD!”

I was laughing so hard, I can’t believe he’ll do that for me. Such a sweet guy!

In the middle of our performance in cheering, I saw Stefanie looking mad at me. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that she’ll ruin me.

While we’re having a pyramid exhibition which is the last part of our performance, I’m on the topmost and under me is Stefanie and I was shocked when she pushed me and I’m about to fall on the ground so hard, our pyramid is very high because it’s not the usual pyramid thing, it’s a pyramid but we’re all standing. The crowd is shouting and I can see that they’re all nervous on what will happen.

I’m about to fell unexpectedly when I think about an idea. I made a backflip and end with a split. Woah! That hurts so much. But the crowd went screaming my name they were all shocked on what I did. I can’t even believe. 

“That is unexpected but you made our performance even more spontaneous!” Our trainer said at me and smiled.

“Why did you do that to me? You almost ruined our performance! Do you want me to die?” I said to Stefanie.

“Because you deserve it, you’re not as talented as you think you are.” She shouted at me.

“What have I done to you?” I asked her.

“Mark my word. I’m going to ruin everyone who is close to Michelle. I will make all your lives miserable.” She rolled her eyes and walked away.

I just didn’t care about what she said; I’ll just talk about it later to the girls… I have to go now and support Nathalie in her competition.

This day was every amazing! My cheering squad and Nathalie’s team won. Plus, Michelle and Juliette were also part of the people who stand out on the talent search. But there’s still one thing we will all have to talk about; it’s about Stefanie and what will she do in our lives.
