Chapter 30: This Can't Be

Juliette’s POV:

Over the last few days, I’ve realized something that I didn’t expect. This might be stupid or I’m just dumb but I think I’m in love with Blake. I know that we’re the worst enemies back then but as the days went by, I discover his real personality. I never thought that I’ll be falling with this kind of guy. But I must admit that he’s really different, he’s very nice and indeed really caring. He’s right that I should know him even more because he’s not the Blake I used to know before. He got that personality that I’ve dreamt of in a guy.

As usual, I’m with Abby right now because of my Dad’s rule.

We’re in the rest room to freshen up ourselves before our first class starts. I’m a bit serious applying some face powder when suddenly she spoke by.

“Julie, can I ask you something?” She said.

“Yeah, sure what is it?” I replied and put down my touch ups.

“It seems that you like someone; it’s a bit obvious you know. May I know who is he?” She looked into my eyes.

“Damn! You’re really my cousin, huh! How did you know?” I replied quickly, bit blushing.

“OMG so I’m right? Well these days, you seem like very inspired.” She laughed.

“Okay, I’ll tell you who if you’ll tell me who is the guy you fell in love with! I know it, Abby. You’re always blushing!” I smirked at her.

“I hate you Julie!!!” She replied.

“I know you love me, now tell me.” I winked at her.

“Uhhh, okay. I don’t have any choice, though. He’s Blake.” She made the biggest smile ever.

When she said it’s Blake, my heart almost dropped. I can’t believe that we like the same guy. How can I handle this? I don’t want my cousin to be my enemy because of just a guy. Plus, this is my very first time to be in love with a guy, but what happened. My cousin likes him as well and I don’t want her to hate me or get awkward towards me because of Blake. I don’t even know what to reply to her. I froze there with shocked emotions.

“Hey! Are you alright? Don’t tell me you like him as well? I’d definitely be mad at you if ever. Lol I’m kidding.” She said.

It took me awhile to talk to her because of what she said. If I’ll tell her that I also like Blake, then our cousin-relationship might go crazy and I don’t want to add that to my problems about my group. Yes, I’ll just keep my mouth shut and pretend that I like someone else and not Blake.

“Uhh, sorry I was just shocked because I never thought you fell in love with a jerk!” I laughed a bit but in a straight face.

“No!!! He’s not a jerk; he’s definitely sweet and nice! You should know him more!” She replied and I can see in her eyes that she’s really in love.

“I guess so. But how did you know him? I haven’t seen you around with him.” I asked in curiousness.

“Actually, we have 3 same classes and we’re seatmates so we’re close but not as close as we are. We can’t hangout because he’s always busy and I am as well but we’re good friends for now.” She said.

“So that means you want more than friends?” I asked her quickly.

“Who wouldn’t want to? He’s every girl’s dream!” She replied.

“Ohh.” Not knowing what to say.

“But there’s just a bit bad news.” She added, frowning.

“What is it?” I asked.

“You don’t know? Gosh Julie, were you paying attention in your Literature class last day? Some people told me that your teacher there asked the students to share their inspirations in life in front of the class and they said that Blake’s inspiration is a girl in our school but he didn’t say who that girl is. Ughhh, I wonder who’s that btch!” She rolled her eyes.

“I’m not that much a listener, though. But whoever is that girl, I’m sure a lot of girls envy her now.” I replied.

“And I’m one of those girls.” She said and smirked at me.

I just nodded at her.

“Anyway Julie, I saw you around with him lately. Can you please help me to be even close to him? I really like Blake. Please my beautiful cousin? Help me to date him.” She made that puppy eyes to me.

“Are you serious Abby? You will just look like a slut! I’m sorry about that, but maybe he’s the one who should make the first move.” I replied, a bit mad inside.

“It’s not that I’m going to make the first move, I just want him to realize that I’m the best girl for him.” She added.

“You’re totally crazy. This is not a good idea.” I replied.

“Please Julie!!! I would assume that you like him as well if you will refuse my request.” She said.

“Damn! Okay, I’ll try. But I can’t promise that your idea will work.” I replied, really annoyed inside.

“OMG thank you so much my dearest cousin!” She kissed me in the cheek. Eeew.
