Nathalie’s POV:

I’m shocked when the DJ played Truly, Madly, Deeply… this will be sort of romantic time and a lot of couples went on the dance floor dancing like they’re on prom.

“Nathalie, do you want to dance?” Andrew asked me and offers his hands.

“Uhmm sure.” I can’t hide that I’m really blushing. He put his hands on my waist and my hands on his shoulders.

I think, I should ask him now on why he still doesn’t have a girlfriend. This will be pretty awkward, but I really want to know.

“Drew, I know that a lot of girls like you, it’s undeniable. But why don’t you still have a girlfriend?” I finally asked him. Oh my gosh, I’ll going to melt now… this is embarrassing.

He laughed a bit and said; “To be honest, there’s only one girl that I want, a girl who I fell deeply in love with since then.” He’s smiling and I can see a blush on his cheeks.

A lot of thoughts came over in my mind. Who’s this girl? Do I know her? Why I didn’t notice it? OMG, Am I jealous? No!!!! I shouldn’t.

“So who’s this very lucky girl?” I asked and in my mind I don’t really want to hear what he’s going to say… I’ll be sad for sure.

“She’s a simple girl who loves sports, a girl who will always be there for you, and a girl who is not like the others who hook up with a lot of guys. She’s lovely, sweet, caring, and funny. Through all her flaws, she’ll still perfect for me and I hope she knows that.” He said giving me a half smile.

“May I know her?” I asked… very afraid of his answer.

“Do you really want to know?” He grabbed my hands, I blushed so much.

“Yes.” I said… I can’t take this anymore.

“The girl who I truly love is the one who has my hands right now.” He said smiling at me and tightens on holding my hands.

I looked around then I realize that my hand is on him.

“Me?” I asked in complete shock.

“Is my hands on the other people here?” he said laughing.

“Oh. But I mean, why me? I don’t get it.” I said, uttering. I’m quite nervous now.

“Nathalie, I know that we’ve been best friends for so long and since we were kids, I already have this thing for you. You’re exceptional… you don’t know how much I love you.  But I understand if you don’t feel the same way, we’re best friends and we’re practically like siblings. But no matter what, you’ll always be my girl… my princess.” He said in a very gentle voice.

“Wow. I don’t know what to say. I’m clueless right now, can you excuse me? I’ll just go to the bathroom.” I said to him and ran so fast. And yes, I left him there… hanging.

What have I done? Why I didn’t tell to him that I like him ever since! That is the moment I’ve always dreams of and now; I’ve just taken it for granted! What the hell am I going to do now?

Andrew’s POV:

Finally, I already told her about the feelings I really want to shout in the world. I’m not expecting that she’ll have the same feeling… we’re best friends and no more than that.

As she ran against me and left me there hanging, it’s so heart breaking. I don’t know what will happen later on, things will get awkward and maybe our friendship as well. This is why I don’t want to tell her about this, I don’t want to lose her in my life… she’s the only one who brings out the best in me, the one who’ll never judge me, and the one who’ll love me endlessly…  but as a best friend.

A tear fell from my eye, but I didn’t regret that I told her that. I’m happy that at least she already knows this… I don’t have to hide this anymore.

I went back to my seat… there’s Luke, one of my close friends.

“Hey man, are you alright? What happened to the both of you? You’re having a great time then she suddenly ran away.” He said to me tapping my back.

“I already told her my feelings towards her.” I said and every word of it takes a lot of courage… my heart is like breaking into pieces.

“Oww. That’s harsh. Maybe she’s just been shocked about it and later on she’ll speak up to you, I’m sure.” He said. I know he’s just saying that to make me feel better.

“Dude, I don’t want to lose her but maybe I’ve gotten a bit fast.” I sighed.

“Yeah just don’t overthink, let it be. Everything will be fine, have fun tonight.” He handed me a drink and some food.
