Apparently the mini wheelers lite-brite was the best way of communication between the two worlds, Nancy explaining that when the Bowers boy, Will, was trapped down here he used lights to talk to his mom.
We signal hello to the kids on the other side, in which finally we gain a reply, the room filling with an echoing laughter resembling Henderson, clearly from the other world.
"Yes!" Nancy exclaims before Eddie cuts in excitedly, "HI!"
The eldest wheeler continues to write and signals to them that we're stuck, "yup, that's definitely right," I laugh along and Steve rubs circles on my back, clearly trying to ease any anxiety.
"You can't get back through watergate?" Dustin's question rings through the air, "watergate? What the hell is watergate?" My boyfriend questions, "like the scandal?" My eyebrow flies upwards as I speak and Steve looks at me with a blank expression, "well that doesn't make sense."
"No because it's in water and it's a gate," rolling her eyes, Robin gives us a look as if to say, duh.
"Oh that's smart yeh."
"Yeh- yeh that's good." As always me and Steve speak over each other by accident.
Nancy shakes her head and continues to write and in reply Dustin begins to tell us a theory, one that's distorted through the air but we can make out just enough to understand.
There's gates at every murder site, why I don't understand yet, which causes Dustin to shout at us.
"Jesus Christ this kids gotta get his ego in check."
"It's his tone right?"
Steve and Eddie share an agreeing nod and my eyes widen, woah since when did they get along?
Nancy and Robin give me a surprised look as if we're sharing that same question between us with just our eyes.
"Ok so.. Eddie's trailer!" I chirp up in excitement, choosing to ignore the changing attitudes of my boyfriend and the metalhead, "how far is it?"
"7 miles."
Robins eyes brighten almost cartoonishly, as if a lightbulb appears above her head, "ok well we might be frozen in time but Nancy don't you still have bikes?"
"Sorry, we have to cycle 7 miles?" I clutch my chest sarcastically, "I'd rather die."
"Ruby.." Steve's warning look says it all.
"Ok! Bad timing."

When we reach Eddie's trailer, we realise Dustin's theory is correct, there's a gate right in the middle of the living room.
"This is where Chrissy died."
I look over at Eddie as he drops his head, eyes glazed over with something anyone else couldn't read, but I can.
