CH: 94 More than an obsession
(Jamison POV)
I finished helping Rosemary get dressed, both of us sneaking in stolen looks at each other. I smiled as I helped her put on her shirt, and she did the same with me.
"I feel sore all over." She said, which caused me to playfully roll my eyes.
"If you feel sore now. I wonder how you'll feel a few days from now." I said in a teasing tone.
She raised her brow at me and scoffed, but I saw the slight, amused look on her face that she was trying to hold back.
I was someone who had picked up on Rosemary's mannerisms more than she thought, and it made me feel so proud to be able to.
"You know nothing is going to happen to me, right?" Rosemary asked.
I stepped back from her and stared. I could tell she was worried that I would be upset about this whole playing-bait thing, and well, I damn well was.
I don't know why she thought this whole bait thing was a good idea. Was she scooby doo? This is very serious.
But I don't want her to feel about it, don't want her to overthink it, which is why I am okay with letting it go. For now, but there was no way in hell I was okay with her going through everything alone.
This freaking killer is dangerous and is not someone to be taken lightly in any shape or form.
I was not going to let the woman I love walk into his hands, where he can lay a hand on her.
The plan so far was that Rosemary and her crime scene investigators, who are employees of her lab, would be requested by law enforcement to come in soon to conduct a sweep of the suspect's home. It came to their attention that some things didn't make sense after going through the proper channels. Because these channels were not easily influenced by the suspect this time, a search warrant was finally issued.
A ringtone came; I didn't move my gaze from Rosemary's face, already knowing it was her phone. I watched as she answered.
"Lavender." She said, answering the call by saying her last name.
"Thank you for the update. I will be there with my team." She said, ending the call.
She called her lab to dispatch the crime scene investigators' team to the suspect's home, including the digital forensics team.
"Are you ready?" She asked me, her facial expression showing concern.
I let out a sigh.
"Not really, but I guess I have to be," I said, taking her hand and walking out of the bedroom. We made our way downstairs. The house was empty, everyone had been given their role and were in place to do what they had to do.
I know there are so many people who will make sure she is okay, and nothing will happen to her, but I was not in support of this idea. I don't want him anywhere near my Bambi.
We were outside the house, and I was helping her get inside the car. She became a passenger princess ever since we started our relationship. One of the things I wanted her to get used to was being doted on in the way she deserves.
Rosemary waited till I got in the driver's seat before she spoke.
"I promise I won't let him hurt me." She said as I drove out of the driveway. I took her hand with my right hand and maintained the steering wheel with my left hand.
"I won't either, I just honestly am worried about it, that's all. I don't want you in danger. I know there are many hands working to prevent that from happening, but I still feel off about it." I said that because the plan was to actually let her get abducted by this freak. To let him take her to a place unknown to us. To see what he plans to do with Rosemary. We spoke through the drive, reassuring ourselves that everything would work out to the point that I was unsure who needed to hear it more. We arrived at the location, and I was not surprised by the house's appearance. The man is wealthy, but even from the outside, the house looked cold. No warmth around it or coming from it.
