TRIS-

It's crawling on to seven o'clock by the time I finally get ready to go to Barney's.

Will is sprawled out on my bed, messing on his phone as I straighten the last few strands of hair.

"So about that girl you you made cry today-"

"Will, I told you to mind your own business. She came at me first anyway," I mumble with a boby pin between my teeth.

"I know but-"

"She's fine. I did the girl a favour."

"You humiliated her."

"She needed it."

He scoffs, sits up and stuffing his phone in his pocket says, "I thought you said you didn't want to hurt anyone, Tris? I thought the whole point in this was to stop people getting hurt?"

Sighing, I switch off the straightener and meet Will's eyes through the mirror. "Colateral damage, Will. Sometimes it just happens."

"Whatever... But this new act of yours is turning you into a bitch. It's not a good look, Tris."

"Shut up, Will. You've got no clue what the fuck is going on. You can't walk in here all high and mighty and pretend you know what's right and wrong.

"I know what I'm doing. I know how this is gonna pan out. I don't need you to tell me I'm fucking shit up because I can see quite clearly that I am.

"I made Christina cry. So. What. I bet she's already got a line of people ready to console her and you're one of them because she's just so fucking perfect!"

By now I realise I've worked myself into a state and desperately start fanning my face to stop the tears that are swelling. I can't have my eyeliner run, then I'd be even later than I already am.

Quickly I pull on my heels and scoop my phone and purse up off my desk before shrugging on a thin jacket.

"I'm off to work, Will. See ya tomorrow morning."

"See ya," he replies. "Don't do anything stupid."

"I won't."

"And don't take your anger out on Christina, I know she reminds you of Hadley but she isn't the same person. She just got caught up in this mess, that's all."

I give a brief nod before ducking out the window and climbing on to the garage roof. "Thank you, Will."

The walk to Barney's is short and brisk. Perfect to clear my head. Let's get this show back on the road then...
