TRIS-

"Or... I have a better idea," I said, taking a deep breath in an attempt to calm the chaos currently running through my brain. What the hell am I doing?

Just relax.

You're cool. You're confident. You want this. Oh God you want this.

"A hot water bottle? I think you had one back in Chicago, if you know where it is I could go and boil some water-" I shook my head and his sentence faded to a close.

Deep breath in. And out.

"I actually had a different idea in mind."

Slowly, I peeled myself out of the blanket cocoon. With each breath the nerves calmed, and I was more sure than ever of my actions. Somehow aware of everything and nothing all at once.

I could feel the goose bumps racing up my legs once more, but not because I was cold. I could feel my heart pounding against my chest. I could feel my pulse echoing in my ears.

I looked up at him, taking his jaw in my palm and kissing him once before stepping back again.

And then slowly, as the heavy pulse echoed even louder in my ears, I slid the large shirt off and let it fall to the floor.

"Tris," he said, with an edge of uncertainty slipping into his voice. "Are you, um-"

"Please, Tobias. I'm sure."

His arms slipped around my waist and our lips met once more. We waddled back to the bed, rather ungracefully, and I sat on the edge as he removed his own shirt. I shuffled out of the shorts and scooted back to sit in the middle before he joined me.

And that was it for a while. We sat kissing and laughing, slowly inching off the remainders of our clothes before hiding from the cool air under the duvet.

I definitely wasn't cold anymore.

"Are you sure? I don't want to force you to do anything if you're not comfortable."

"I'm sure, and you're not forcing me to do anything."

"Okay then."

His hands traced down my spine once more as he kissed my neck. I truly felt lost to the moment. It was like being sixteen all over again.

Giddy with excitement and so overwhelmed with everything that nothing else apart from this one moment matters. So blissful that I wish time would just freeze so I could cherish it a bit longer.

"Wait, do you have a condom?" he said, taking a break from dotting my flesh with soft kisses.

"Yeah. One sec, they're in my purse. Let me grab one quickly."

Crawling out from the covers briefly, I darted naked across my room to the bag sat under my dresser. It only took a little bit of digging before finding one of the foil packets.

"Well don't you look adorable all eager and blushing like that," I heard him say as I stood up again.

"I'm not blushing."

"I think the mirror tells a different story."

I turned back once more and came face to face with my reflection. Curling from my right ear to just between my breasts was a trail of slowly fading hickeys.

"What do you think of my handy work?"

"I'd suggest not going in to the body modification business," I said, smirking back at him through the mirror, "This one is larger than the others and that one's out of line."

"So sorry, I'll up my game next time. But I don't think that a professional hickey maker is a sound career anyway, so I don't think I'll miss out on much by not peruseing it."

We were both laughing as I walked back, placing the small packet on the side table before climbing back under the sheets.

"I love you, Tris," he said, taking my face in his hands.

"I love you too."

The foil ripped slowly, carefull not to damage the contents inside.

After fumbling with laughter for a few short seconds, Tobias' hands traced the crevices of my back once more.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Just tell me to stop if you change your mind."

"I won't change my mind."

"I don't want to hurt you."

"You won't."

"I love you."

"I love you."
