Months turned into years, and slowly, they stopped asking and looking at taehyung like he was a ticking bomb. Stopped expecting him to tell them anything that is happening, stopped thinking that he might explode or might ask for help.

Or so Taehyung thought.

Though once in a few months, the question came back at night at dinner.
It always did. Like they were just giving some time to say something, to speak to spill something that they could hold onto.

Like they were seated around the long dining table, the room was calm on the surface. Cutlery clinked softly against plates. Conversations moved easily—from work to politics to the schedules of each of the family members.

Taehyung ate quietly, posture perfect, face unreadable, teasing and having banter with Joon, or yoongi when he was here. Dinner was the only time the family sat together and talked, spoke about their problems, happiness anything and everything.

But the topic seemed to be future plans for the them, business, politics and even the kids meaning- Taehyung, namjoon. Everything was normal until Tae's mother spoke,

"Tae-ah," she said gently, almost like it was nothing important, "don't you think it's time we start talking about marriage?"

He didn't look up, already exhausted with the same question once in a  few months. His father followed right after, like it had been planned. Like they have already discussed this prior, usually it was only his mother who would pester for marriage or girlfriend/boyfriend.

But this time, it was his father as well, knowing very well, he wont back down unlike his mother.

"Your mother is right. We aren't getting any younger. It would be nice to have grandchildren."

The words weren't new, but from his father this time.
His mother had been circling him for months. Sometimes said softly. Sometimes directly. Never stopping. Because she too think that about the rumors of girls and boys around him.

She was the always the most involved his love life.

That night, something in Taehyung finally gave way. No it was angry or anything, but more of irritation, he just wants this conversation to stop altogether now. Didnt want his father or mother to dig up anything or probe into his life.

Just... quietly. He placed his spoon down slowly and looked up, directly at them addressing them calming yet with a temper.

"You want grandkids?" he asked calmly, his voice polite. Almost casual smirking
"I'll can give you plenty—without marriage."

His mother's face lit up without thinking. "What—" then she realized what he said "Tae.." she began.

"What you said you want grandkids?" tae's asks, again like its so normal for him, " I adopt as many as you want, or you want surrogacy kids?" he questions

"I am talking about you, your own kids, with your wife" his mother says a bit loud than normal as if just controlling her anger.

"I will give you"

"But only if I want to," Taehyung continued smoothly, cutting her off.
"Is that okay, omma?"

The room went still,  his mother already tired.

"Is there a boy?" his mother tried again, "you know na we dont have any problem even if its boy right?"

"is it the same boy, from the party earlier..."

"no, he isnt the one" Tae cut her off, I have no one"

His father narrowed his eyes slightly. He knew that tone. He knew his son too well.
