Jungkook had changed in 3 years, drastically, the not the normal way in which someone grow out of innocence but like someone has ripped the innocence from him. His big does eyes that once held so much love and innocence now were blank.
It wasn't something people noticed immediately, not in the obvious ways. It was now, that if you look at him, you wouldn't find something common with the old jungkook.
He still smiled but the shine wasn't there anymore.Still bowed politely, but respect ah he cant respect anyone now atleast not from the heart. Still spoke softly with everyone. But not really talking with anyone.
But the shine in his eyes—the one that used to light up rooms without effort—was gone, replaced with void.
The boy who used to laugh loudly, who used to cling, who used to love without fear...
He didn't exist anymore, that boy died the moment his innocent was taken away, the day his love was called crime, a mistake a disease.
Jungkook finished college 6 months ago.
He had offers—good ones too, from outside Busan.
Internships in Seoul, and an option to go.
One even abroad, short-term but promising.
Everyone expected him to leave Busan, at the first chance he got, to run away.
Everyone except Jungkook himself.
He declined them all, because he didn't where to go. He has no home where his was welcomed without any conditions.
When people asked why, he only smiled and said,
"I like it here."
The truth was simpler—and heavier, he doesn't want his wounds to be open again.
Busan felt quieter and Safer.
Like a place where memories could sit without screaming.
So Jungkook joined a small firm in Busan.
Nothing fancy or powerful.
Just stable and Enough for him to survive and to live normally.
He worked long hours, learned fast, and kept his head down.
His bosses liked him said he was disciplined.
They didn't know that work was the only thing keeping him steady and stopping his thoughts run wild.
That staying busy kept his mind from wandering too far back.
At the office, he met Nina, a girl a year older than him. His senior at work.
She was different from him in every way.
Bold and Loud when she laughed.
Unapologetic when she spoke.
She didn't hesitate. Didn't overthink. Didn't hold back. Just carefree like once he was, maybe she was more carefree than him, because she didn't have any fear.
