"Michael! Be careful with that!" I shout as they fit our project snuggly in the back seat of my car.
That was hard work to build both virtually and physically. It has to show the different acidity in fruits mainly and different types of foods. I mean people do the same thing every year; planes, volcanic eruptions, hypnosis, etc, so I said why not think out of the box, with the help of Michael of course. I know with his electronic versions, and computerized visuals, this sure blow them away, I hope and hope not.
"She's set and ready, what time is it?" He shut the door shut.
"7:30." I checked my phone, "so we can leave and set up early."
"Aren't we supposed to wait for the girls or something?" He raised a brow.
"I'll tell them meet us there." I grabbed my bag back making sure I've got all the pamphlets and papers we need to nail this.
"Mom!" I shouted for us to leave.
"Honey I'll meet you there, I'm on a business phone call!" She shouted back.
"Is dad gonna be there?" I briskly walked to her office.
"He said he'll be there honey relax." She stood up rubbing my arms, fixing my hair. "My Lil scientist, go blow them to the moon."
She hugged me and kissed my cheeks.
"Mom, that's a good thing and a bad thing." She smiled. "I love you mom."
I ran and entered the car, buckling my seatbelt and started the engine.
"You ready for this?" I turned to Michael, one hand on steering wheel and the other on his lap.
"As ready as you are." He lifted my hand from his lap, kissing it gently.
I backed out of the driveway, speeding off.

By the time we got there, a few of the other competing schools were setting up their area. So far all I see is the usual.
"Tami, over there." Michael pointed to our area.
Perfect, way at the back, but we needed an extra large table. I looked around, then saw Gina and Samson, frantically looking all over. Lucy and Paul came in behind them, Paul pointed a finger to indicate where we are. They briskly walked over us. Kyle came running after them.
"Hey, sorry we're late." Gina hugged me tightly.
"Son, Paul and Kyle, can you help Michael find a large table and bring it here?" They nodded and they were off. "Girls help me set up."
Lucy hung a bag of laundered clothes? I looked at them.
"Oh, these are your coats to represent our school, we had a little touch up though." Gina smiled.
"Okay less talking more fixing. Projector one, projector two." I pointed and we were put to work.
Just on cue the boys brought just the exact size of table we needed. Oh God please let this work.
The place is filled wit chatter, clinging of metals, explosion of some experiment failure, bubbling of chemicals. Welcome to the world of science. This was my first science Fair they actually let me do with a partner, and hell yes I was nervous since I'm used to doing them on my own. I started thinking of the what ifs, but pushed it aside and calmed. The judges were getting closer, and there was still no sign of mom and dad.
My parents have always been there for all my activities since I was a child. Their presence just always gave me a confidence boost. I gave the rest of my friends a smile, as they clapped and showed me thumbs up. One more assignment before the judges came to us. I glanced up at Michael, who had a straight face on, but turned to look at me with a smile and winked. I glanced one more time in the stands, and finally, saw my parents.
