Chapter 33- Good and Bad news

"Oh Lucy I don't think you've met my parents really." Paul held her hand in his and went into the direction of his parents. "Oh you guys will meet them later." I turned around before leaving.

"No problem." Tami and I said as we watched them leave.

Everyone's gone, it's just me and Tami right now, this is the perfect time to ask. I took a step towards her and she looked up at me.

"Tami, I've missed you." I embraced her into a hug.

"I missed you too Michael." She held me tightly.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure what us it?"

"What-" I was cut off when her mother came and pull her away.

"Tami sweetheart, come on it's time for open mic." She tugged on her arm.

I gave her a sympathetic smile and a swift kiss on her lips before she was whisked away from me. Why do I have this bad feeling inside me, about me and Tamika. I've never had this feeling before. Ok Michael, keep a clear mind, stay positive and keep the negative away. Easier said than done cause I've been wanting to ask and it never happens.

I made my way way to my table with my family and hers. People are on the platform with the mic giving jokes, we all laugh because they were hilarious about our days in highschool. Elizabeth took the stage.

"Good evening everyone." She played with the mic.

"Evening!" We answered back.

"Wow, they grow up so fast," she looked at Tami and the made sympathetic eye contact. "My baby is already leaving for college soon." Her voice cracked, "I can give you so many gifts, but the surprise is the most ultimate. A gift from both your father and me." "The gift of life." she said softly.

Tami pressed her hands over her mouth and her eyes widen as she was also on the verge of tears. Everyone cooed.

"You're going to have a baby sibling." Tami stood up slowly, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Congratulations on your acceptance my love." She made her way down the platform and to Tami, tears streaming down both their faces.

Mrs. Strott is pregnant, oh wow, Congratulations. They hugged each other and cried for a bit as everyone applaud. She hugged both her parents, then they sat back down.

"Awww so sweet, all I see is happiness tonight." The MC cooed over the mic. "Congratulations to the Strott family once again. Give 'em another round of applause." We all clapped, it's indeed a celebration tonight.

"So the stage is clear who's next?" He boomed. No one came for awhile, but then Samson, Samson? Took the stage. "Here you go my boy." The MC left the stage.

"Good evening everyone." There was a little feedback as Samson's voice boomed over the microphone. "For those who don't know me, I'm Samson." What is this boy doing? He gave the DJ a signal and Jason Derulo 'Marry me' instrumental came on lowly, Tami rubbed her forehead.

"Through my years in highschool, a few of them were meaning less," he cleared his throat," until I met a few special people, and one extremely special girl." I shot my eyebrows up.

"I was like damn she's beautiful, when I approached her, gosh she was mean, she still is mean though." There were laughs in the crowd," she's smart, bold, sweet, when she wants to be. I looked back on my past and I say, she lights up my world, she is my world. Gina."

Gina nearly choked on her drink, and now the spotlight is on her, and the song still played lowly in the background.

"Gina, I have never ever felt this way about any girl, you've made me so happy for the past few years, you've been there through my good and bad days, we've had our ups and downs, but we pushed through, I'm lucky to be blessed with you in my life. I have a question for you though."
