After putting together a draft of our science project for the fair, Micheal and I completed a few assignments, I got him to drop me home.
Fumbling with my keys, my mom came to my rescue, opening the front door with a welcoming smile.
"Tami baby!" She grabbed me pulling me inside, the stalked off into her office.
The house was filled with decorations and baskets all over. Red and gold filled up the house. She came back with a notepad in her hand.
"So tell me, what do you think would get these kids drawn in?" She said absentmindedly.
"Umm, mother, what's going on? Are we throwing a party or something?" I heard the doorbell rang.
"That must be the girls." She skipped past me to open the front door.
"Mr.s Strott!" The voices were so familiar, "we're ready to work."
"Good darlings, let's get started shall we." Lucy and Gina followed marching behind her to the kitchen.
It was like I was a ghost. I followed after them. They all sat around the isle, notebooks and notepads opened. These people can't be serious.
"Hellllooooooo!" I waved my arms, all heads turned towards me, "is there something, I'm involved in, that I don't know about?!" The switched glances.
"Well, we tried texting you." Lucy said casually
"So what's this about?"
"Your prom campaign." They said in unsion.
"Omg, you people are, uuurrgghh!" I ran off too my room, I know they'd continue. My phone rang.
"Baby, was up?". Michael's voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Nothing." I sighed and slumped on my bed.
"What's wrong?"
"Mom and friends."
"What's up with them?"
"They really want me to be prom queen, they've even started to plan my campaign."
"Soooooo, you don't want to be prom Queen?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"I can't do it."
"Bullshit."
I was about to say something, but he cut me off.
"what are you talking about, I mean look at you."
"what about me?"
"you are beautiful, smart and amazing, besides, I need a prom queen."
"lol, okay then, I got work to finish up talk to you later."
"Tami, did I say something wrong."
"Michael, no, I just got to start up this project. I'll talk to you later."
"bye baby," there was a pause, "I love you."
