Kao pulled a shirt from the wall cupboard and slipped it on quietly.

The room was dim, lit only by a faint bedside lamp that cast long shadows across the walls. It was just enough light for him to move around without stumbling.

His phone buzzed on the bedside table. Kao picked it up without even glancing at the caller ID.

"I will be there," he said calmly, his voice flat and nonchalant. He ended the call and finally turned toward the bed.

Earth was sleeping peacefully, curled slightly under the blanket. The oversized shirt he wore—Kao's shirt—hung loosely on his frame, the sleeves covering half his hands.

Kao's gaze softened.

For a moment, the cold composure on his face faded.

He walked to the bedside and gently pulled the blanket higher, tucking it around Earth's shoulders.

Earth stirred slightly but didn't wake.

Kao brushed a few strands of hair away from Earth's forehead before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss there.

"Sleep well," he murmured under his breath.

Then he turned off the light.

The room fell into darkness.

Kao stepped out of the cottage and locked the door from outside.

A cool breeze brushed through his hair as he stepped onto the pathway. The evening air was crisp, but his expression was colder still.

His strides were firm and steady as he walked past the row of cottages that housed the wedding guests.

At the far end stood a small cottage, slightly isolated from the others.

Kao stopped in front of it and knocked twice.

The door opened almost immediately.

Ohm stood there.

"How's it going?" Kao asked casually.

Ohm stepped aside to let him in. "Mostly taken care of," Ohm replied.

He shut the door behind Kao and locked it.

Kao glanced around briefly before looking back at him. "Oh?" he asked lightly.

Ohm folded his arms. "I dealt with those women," he said. "But I didn't know what to do with them."

Kao hummed quietly. "Where are they?"

Ohm tilted his head toward the bedroom. "Inside." He led the way.

When Kao stepped into the room, he stopped.

Eric and Jane sat tied to separate wingback chairs. Kao's parents.

Jane's eyes widened the moment she saw him. "Kao!" she screamed, struggling violently against the ropes. "What is the meaning of this?! How dare you tie us up like this!"

Kao didn't react.

"Swadee Khrab Khun Mom, Khun Dad," he greeted casually.

Jane's face twisted with fury. "We are your parents!" she shrieked. "How can you treat us like criminals?!"
