Chapter 25

Sophie's P.O.V.

          Sophie: It's dying. My body is dying. Because of the Time Vortex energy. - I smiled - And because a Dalek shoot me.

          The Doctor: Regenerate, Sophie. C'mon just regenerate. - he said desperately while my smile faded - Regenerate, my love.

          Amy: Regenerate? What's that?

          The Doctor: It's this trick that we Time Lords have to cheat death. We change. It's a renovation process. Our bodies changes. Even our minds change. When I first met you, when you were a little girl, I had just regenerated.

          Amy: So, let's see if I understood this correctly. She's dying. So she can regenerate and when she does that, she changes. Her body and her mind will change. Like changing into a completely different person?

          Sophie: E-Exactly. - I said full of pain. I looked to my hands which were now glowing. - It's starting. - I got up and nodded to the Doctor who understood and took Amy to the console, far away from me.

She can't be near me or I'll hurt her or something. Luckily I know that the Doctor will protect her. I looked to my glowing hands again and then to my gorgeous Doctor. There was one thought in my mind... what happened to me in those two years I waited for him, Amy and Rory.

I threw my head back as the regeneration energy flew from hands and head as I yelled and Amy and the Doctor were thrown to the floor due to the intensity of the energy. It was being so painful and I know the Doctor could feel it. And I felt bad about it. But it didn't last long. When I felt my body completely cured with no injuries, I pointed my arms to the TARDIS' console and let the energy fly to her. Soon it had all flew to her and I was now back to normal. I wasn't hurt. I wasn't dying. And I wasn't different.

The Doctor and Amy looked to me astounded. The Doctor slowly walked to me and touched me, then walking to the TARDIS to see if everything was ok and then he stood in front of me.

          The Doctor: H-How...

          Amy: W-What happened?? Wasn't she supposed to regenerate and change her face and her body??

          The Doctor: What happened Sophie? W-What did you do?

          Sophie: Well... hum... I'm still not quite sure... Let me tell you from the start... Remember those two years I waited for you and Amy to come and pick me up? - And Rory of course. They nodded still astounded. - Well... I never told you this... In those two years, Layla and I had a major car accident. Very bad. We were taken to the hospital and... we were dying. Both of us. I knew I had to regenerate. And I knew that maybe I could use the regeneration energy to save Layla too. So I just... regenerated. Before I knew it... I was letting the regeneration energy leave my body, right before I changed, into everybody in the hospital, including Layla. Layla stopped dying... and so did the other people at the hospital. Everyone was cured. I really don't know what happened. I just automatically let the energy leave my body and it spread across the hospital and into other people's bodies. Months later I had another accident. Again with a car. Let's say that me driving a car it's like the Doctor piloting the TARDIS. - Amy and I laughed - I called Layla and since she was close by, she drove to me. Before she could help me I began regenerating. And once again, right before my body could change, the regeneration energy automatically left my body and into the only life forms nearby. Which were Layla and some birds on the trees around us. Luckily it didn't hurt them. I really don't know how I did all that, just like now. It just happened.
