Chapter 44

"Natsu! Slow down!" Gray yelled as Natsu ran ahead through the forest.

"I smell Lucy!" Natsu kept running towards Lucy's scent hoping to find her on the other side of it.

"Wake up! Wake up!" Triss yelled as everyone groaned.
"We're gonna hold the showcase to sell the girls off now, I contacted a lot of wealthy men who would gladly pay a pretty penny..get the girls ready!"
A group of maids rushed into the room that Lucy and the others were in. They were holding clothes, hair accessories, makeup etc.
Triss shoved them into the cage with them.

"Make them sellable, auction is in an hour"

Triss walked by Levy's room and found Cole sleeping next to her cage.
"Cole wake up you idiot" Triss kicked his rib cage making him groan and sit up.
"We're selling the girls off but the fairy is going to stay here..probably till she dies" with that Triss walked out leaving Cole to sigh.

Levy's voice spoke up.
"You are aware that Natsu and the others are on their way right?"
Cole nodded and smiled.
"I hope they come"

"Is that it?" Jellal asked while pointing at a brown building.
"Shrimp is in there" Gajeel said as he cracked his knuckles.
"Let's go!" Natsu yelled but Gray pulled him back by his scarf.
"Idiot, do you look around? Look at this" he pointed at a large banner hanging in front of the building.
"AUCTION"
"Auction? What are they selling?" Gajeel asked.
"Let's find out!" Natsu started running again but Gray stopped him once more.
"They know what we look like, we need disguises"
Jellal put his index finger on his chin to think.
"Gray is right, they would spot us from a mile away"
"Especially because of pinky over there" Gajeel said making Natsu grip his shirt.
"What did you say Iron face?"
"You heard me...pinky"
They stopped when they heard a wagon in the distance.
They ducked behind bushes and watched it pass, but overheard the conversation the people were having inside of the wagon.

"Lucy Heartfilia! How did they manage to get her?! I'm going all out to buy her, no one is going to out-bid me"
"I'm going for Erza, have you seen her rack?! To die for!"

"Don't forget Juvia! She's a total babe!"

Natsu ran and broke the side of the wagon, making it fall over.
He grabbed one of the men by their tuxedo and stole his clothes, then tied him to a tree.
"Thanks man! Nice tux!" Natsu yelled as he straightened the sleeves out.
The rest of the boys did the same and Natsu put his scarf around his head to hide his hair.
Jellal put a top hat on to mask his blue hair.
He tilted it a little to also cover his red markings on his face.

They walked inside and noticed a large stage, chairs were placed in front of it so people could sit.
A large cage was in the middle of the stage but a huge cloth was covering it.
"I smell Lucy over there" Natsu pointed to the cage as they nodded.
They were about to investigate until a loud voice was heard around the room.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, The auction is about to start please take your seats" said a short man with a dark green tux.
Natsu and the others sat in the very back to blend in.

Lights dimmed down and a spotlight shined onto the cage as the cloth was removed revealing Lucy, Erza, and Juvia.
They were all wearing Lace-type tight clothes that barely covered their cleavage.
Lucy covered herself as the cloth fell down, revealing 100's of old men buyers.
The girls had handcuffs on that prevented them from using their magic.
Triss walked onto stage and opened the cage, grabbing Lucy by her arm and throwing her onto the stage floor.
She grunted as she hit the floor.
"Lucy..." Natsu whispered.
He wanted to just charge up there and grab Lucy but that would blow their cover.
Gray looked over and noticed Natsu clenching his fists in anger.

"First Girl for sale, Lucy Heartfilia" the auctioneer said making men whistle.
"Do we have a first bid?
"50,000 jewels!" Someone yelled, making Lucy disgusted.
"My rent cost more than that!" She yelled making Natsu slightly snicker.
"100,000!"
"500,000!"
"1 million jewels!"
Natsu started to panic but Jellal calmed him down.
"Follow my lead" he said as he stood up.
"Take them all out, I'm not buying till I see every inch of them!" Jellal said making everyone silent.
Ezra's eyes widened as she heard his voice.
"Yea! We can barely see them behind those cage bars!" Gray shouted making Triss tighten her eyebrows together.
Everyone soon started agreeing so Triss had to let them out.
"Don't try anything or else I'll personally kill you" Triss said as she pulled the girls out of the cage.

"Only Gray-sama can touch me!" Juvia yelled as Triss grabbed her by her hair and dragged her out.
Erza looked over at Lucy and smirked.
While Triss was distracted by Juvia, Lucy swung her leg over into Triss's stomach, sending her flying back.

"Go Lucy!" Natsu yelled as everyone ran out of the guild.
"My customers!" Triss yelled as Erza used her legs to flip Triss over.
"Imma go find shrimp!" Gajeel yelled as he followed his nose towards Levy's scent.

"Where are you" he whispered as he searched every room.
He finally slowly looked into a room and noticed Levy In a cage.
No one else seemed to be in the room but she was sweating and screaming in pain from her shoulder wound.
"Shrimp!"
"G-Gajeel?" Levy opened her eyes to see her iron dragon slayer peering above her.
He tried biting the bars but they wouldn't budge.
Cole walked in with bandages but stopped when he noticed Gajeel.
"Eh?" Gajeel turned around and noticed Cole looking at him.

"Finally, I've been itching for a fight" Gajeel smirked and got into fighting position.
He was about to slam his fist into Cole's face but stopped when Levy started screaming from the pain she was in.
"Right, I don't have time for this"
Cole pulled out his katana and sliced Gajeel's arm when he wasn't looking.

He grunted and noticed the blood dripping from his arm.
"Gajeel!" Levy shouted.
"You can't take her!" Cole yelled.
"And why the hell not?" Gajeel flew forward at Cole.
"Gajeel! Stop!" Levy yelled making him stop.
"Don't hurt Cole, he's been good to me"
"Shrimp he's trying to kill me, has the poison gone to your head?"
"You don't deserve Levy, she needs someone who treats her right" Cole launched forward and swung at Gajeel but he dodged it.
Levy's eyes widened at Cole's words.

"What are you talking about" Gajeel leaped to the side, dodging Cole's sword.
"Levy needs someone who will look out for her and be there for her when she needs it!" Cole cut Gajeel's cheek making him groan.
"Cole stop! Please!" Levy yelled but he didn't listen.
"I'm always there for her, you don't even know her" Gajeel said as he punched Cole.
"Then what were you doing when she got shot by Triss's poison arrow?"
Gajeel clenched his teeth and flew at Cole.

He dodged Gajeel's punch but Gajeel caught him off guard and kicked him in the stomach.
"Shrimp is mine, I'll protect her till the day I die!" Gajeel yelled as he slammed Cole against the wall.
Cole was bleeding all over as Gajeel kept hitting him.
"L..Levy" Cole whispered as he blacked out.
Gajeel grabbed Cole's keys and ran over to Levy's cage, opening it.
He carried Levy in his arms as he ran out of the room.

"You didn't have to go so hard on him" Levy said making Gajeel smirk.
"He tried to take my shrimp away, of course I made him regret it"
Levy smiled but felt bad for Cole.

They were interrupted when a blast smacked Gajeel against the wall.
Levy fell out of his arms, hitting the floor.
The poison in her body felt like it was tearing every inch of her.
She clenched her shoulder as she looked over at Gajeel who was stuck under a part of the building.
A shadow came out of the dust.
"X..."
"Triss told me not to let you out" X said as he swung his axe down at Gajeel.
"Solid Script Shield!"

A huge shield blocked Gajeel as the Axe collided with it.
The shield shattered as Levy's pain increased.
Gajeel threw the piece of building off of him and ran to Levy.
"Idiot, don't use your magic when you're hurt like that"
Levy grunted when Gajeel picked her up.
Her eyes widened when X was behind him, ready to swing his axe.
"Gajeel! Watch out!"
Gajeel turned around but it was to late, the axe was almost to him.
"Shit"
He covered Levy with his body so the Axe wouldn't hit her, he embraced her and waiting for the axe to hit him since he couldn't jump away, but it didn't hit him.
He heard a scream and turned around.
Cole moved in front of Gajeel so the Axe hit him instead.
"Cole!" Levy jumped out of Gajeel's arms and crawled over to Cole.
"L..Levy"

X dropped his axe and stepped back.
"Triss ordered me to not let the girl leave but I killed Cole..she's going to be so mad..I must go!" X ran away in fear.
Gajeel watched as Levy crouched near Cole's body.
"Why did you do that!" Levy yelled but Cole coughed up some blood.
The axe wound was very deep and stretched across his back.
Blood was spilling out of him like a fountain.
"You reminded me..of my fiancée" Cole touched Levy's blue hair then dropped his hand.
A pinch of Jealously crawled through Gajeel but he shrugged it off, figuring that Cole was dying.
"You're going to be ok, just hang in there Cole..Gajeel help me carry him" Levy tried to help Cole up but her shoulder gave in.
"Leave Levy, kill Triss..your poison will go away" Cole said then motioned Gajeel over.
"Protect her and I swear if you hurt her I will haunt you for the rest of your life" they both chuckled and backed away.
"Cole don't go!" Levy cried onto his chest.
"I can finally see my fiancée.."
Cole smiled as his eyes slowly closed.
"Shrimp is safe with me" Gajeel said as Levy cried into his chest.

Levy dropped to her knees as they ran away.
"I c-can't" she covered her face and cried her eyes out.
"Shrimp, your poison is spreading..we need to kill triss so it stops"
Gajeel picked Levy up and put her over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" Levy punched his back as he hurried away.
"Sorry shrimp, you're too important to me"
He got to the door in which he entered when he was looking for Levy and stopped when Natsu and Triss were in a heated battle.
Triss looked over at Gajeel and quickly grabbed Lucy by her arm.
She took an arrow and made poison appear on it.
She held the arrow at Lucy's neck as everyone surrounded her.
"One move and I slit her throat! If that doesn't kill her then the poison will surely go to her head!" Triss had bruises and cuts from all the attacks everyone dealt on her.
She was panting which made Natsu smirk, knowing she wasn't going to last.
Gajeel looked over at Levy but noticed she wasn't moving.
Her eyes were closed and she laid lifeless on his shoulder.
He laid her down on the wood stage and examined her.
"Levy!" He screamed as she struggled to open her eyes.

"Stay strong Shrimp"
