Chapter 28: The Restroom

Juvia ran back to the group, who were waiting for Gray to trail behind but he didn't.
Her eyes were watery, and she was still shaking.
"Juvia? Where's Gray? Are you crying?" Lucy asked.
"Uhm..Juvia is fine she just got something in her eyes..and Gray Sa-...Gray said he's gonna come later so we should just leave now" Juvia was quick when she spoke, which left everyone a little confused.
"Alright, let's go! I'm starving!" Natsu said as everyone followed.

They all walked to a local restaurant, and Juvia hoped that Gray wouldn't show up, because she didn't really feel like talking or even speaking to him.
They approached a lady at a front desk, who came over with menus in her hand, and guided them over to a booth.
Juvia ended up sitting at the end, which made her nervous because if Gray showed up, he would end up sitting next to her.
"Juvia are you sure you're ok?" Mira asked.
"Juvia is fine" she said while smiling.

Deep down, the memory of Ashley and Gray kissing kept repeating in her head and she just wanted it to go away but it wouldn't.
Juvia's hands were starting to stop shaking but Every time she thought about Gray and Ashley, they would start again.

Natsu ordered mostly everything on the menu, which everyone still questions how he is so fit when he eats so much.
After they're food arrived and everyone started digging in, Juvia heard the bell of the front door opening.
Juvia tensed up as she slowly looked over to see if it was..'him'

Sure enough, he came rushing in through the door.
He stopped for a minute to breath, as everyone stopped and looked at him.
"Uhm, Juvia needs to use the restroom" the water women said as she stood up and walked to the restroom.

Gray saw everyone and walked over.
"Aye Ice princess, you're late" Natsu said in between bites.
"Shut it flame brain, where's Juvia?" He asked as he searched for the blue haired women
"Why? Did something happen?" Jellal said.
"I'll tell you guys later, where is she?"
They pointed to the restroom as he nodded in return.
He approached the door, not knowing if he should do this.
"You can do it Gray" he whispered as he placed his hand on the door handle.
He rejected it back nervously.
"I'll just wait for her to come out.."
Then suddenly, he heard sobs and crying coming from inside.
"Juvia, are you in there?"

"Juvia..come on talk to me."

"Juvia doesn't..want to talk" she responded from inside.

"Fine, I'm coming in then" he said twisting the handle.
"B-but this is the girls restroom"
"I don't care, I need to talk to you" he said opening it and walking in.

Immediately he saw Juvia sitting on the floor with her back against the wall.
"Juvia is fine.."
"No you're not" he said holding out his hand for her to grab it.
Juvia hesitantly grabbed it and he pulled her up.
Her eyes were red and puffy and dried tear stains were trailed down her face.
"Listen, what you saw back there.. It wasn't what it seemed" he said.
"No, it's ok Juvia is just stupid for thinking that Gray-Sama would maybe have the same feelings.."she stepped back and rubbed her eyes.
"Juv-"
"I'm sorry, I just never gave up but deep down I knew I would never be good enough for Gray-Sama" she looked down, hiding her faint blush and the tears that were forming in her eyes.
He stood there, a bit confused about what to say.
"Juvia will leave you alone now, I'm sorry for bothering you this whole time..I won't tell the others don't worry, I hope you're happy with Ashley or whoever" she walked past him and twisted the handle but he grabbed her arm and spun her towards him.

"Gr-"
She got interrupted by his warm lips pressing on her's.
Her eyes widened in shock.
She was stiff at first, but soon fell into it.
As they parted for air, her face was a deep crimson.
"You say you aren't good enough for me, but really you're just right for me" He said rubbing the back of his neck.
"Then..why did you act like you didn't care when Juvia showed affection?"

He looked at the floor for a bit before speaking.
"Everyone I've truly loved and grown attached too..has left me physically..like Ur and my parents..I guess I just didn't want to go through the pain again"

They stood there in silence for a second before Juvia wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Juvia would never leave you" she whispered.
He smiled before wrapped his arms around her.

"Well, let's make our way back to everyone they're probably wondering where we are" he said releasing from the hug.
"R-right"
When they walked out, Juvia let out a relieving sigh and rubbed her eyes once more.
Surprisingly, Gray grabbed her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers.
Her blush came back, which made him laugh.
"Are you ok now?"
"Yea..thank you" she said as they walked back over to the table.

As they approached the table, everyone stopped and looked at them and their hands.

Soon enough, a screaming and excited Mira came flying over the table, tackling them.
