Chapter 4

LUCY'S POV

When Natsu opened the infirmary door, a smile escaped her mouth.
His company always brightened her mood.
She was going to thank him for always protecting her ,but he said he needed to tell her something.

"Okay, you can go first" he said.
"No, it's ok you go first" she said laying back down onto her bed.
"Alright...uhm.. I really don't know how to say this.." he said as he got nervous.
" You can tell me anything, were best friends right?" She said smiling at him.
"Of course, um.." He started losing eye contact with her.
"Natsu? Just say it. Are you ok?" she said sitting up in concern.
"Yes I'm fine, it's just..you're not" his voice dropped into a voice of emotion.
"What? Seriously are you ok?"

"Luce..I don't want you on the team anymore.." he said looking into her eyes.
Lucy just blinked at him a few times.
Her face loosened.
"Real funny Natsu, got me there" she said giving off a little laugh.
"Luce..it's not a joke"
At that moment she felt like someone just punched her in the stomach, she then realized that he was serious.
"W-what do you mean?" Her face turned serious and her eyes never met Natsu's.
"I'm saying..I don't want you on the team...I don't want you going on jobs with me anymore" he was finding it really hard to say.

"Natsu, how could you say that! We love going on jobs together! What the hell did I do?!" her eyes were getting watery, and she started shaking.
"Please, Luce don't cry, you didn't do anything it's just.. I can't protect you.. I always find a way to screw up everything! I don't like seeing you hurt because of me! This right here, is my fault if only I didn't go look at that track and leave you alone!" He said with such anger in his voice.

"That's not true! None of that is true! You always protect me! You were just doing the job and a turn of events happen, I can handle myself Natsu!" said the blonde as her voice trembled.
"No you can't Lucy!" He shouted without even thinking of what he just said.

"So.. You think I'm weak? Is that it?" Her voice lowered.
"N-no, Luce I didn't me-"
She reached out and slapped him.
Her emotions got the best of her.
She tried to get up but grew dizzy and had to sit down, she stood up again.
"Luce! Don't stand up you're hurt!" He held her arm for support.
"Let go! I'm fine" she said taking a step on her hurt ankle, but her ankle shot pain and she stumbled.
As she stumbled she hit the lamp by her bed over and the light shattered on her arm.
"Luce! What are you doing! Lay back down!" He said panicking.
"I'm fine! Don't touch me!"

"Stop you'll make your ankle worse" he tried helping her up but
she pulled him off.

He looked at her arm, and noticed the glass from the lamp cut her arm and it was bleeding.
His eyes widened as he saw the blood going down her arm.
She got up and started to walk again.
Natsu tried stopped her but she would just push him off.
"Luce! Stop!" He said holding onto her arm once again, but her ankle gave out and she fell against the wall.

She slid her back against the wall and held her hands to her face.
'How could he tell me he didn't wanna do jobs with me then kick me off the team..' She thought to herself.

She sobbed and Natsu kneeled down next to her.
"Luce..I.." He could tell he hurt her internally.
The infirmary door opened, running in was Erza, Gray, and Levy.

"We heard a crash, is everything ok?!" Erza said as he noticed Lucy against the wall, stuff knocked over, and blood going down her arm.
She was also,
Crying.

"Lu-chan! Your arm! Are you ok?!" Levy ran to her side.
She helped Lucy up.
"What happen Flame-brain?" Gray asked.
Natsu just stood there looking at Lucy.
"Call Wendy in here" the Requip mage ordered.

Seconds later, she came in.
"Oh, Lucy! What happen, can everyone get out for a second please?" Wendy asked and everyone nodded and one by one left.
The last person to leave the room was Natsu.
Before he left he looked at Lucy's crying face.

"I'm..sorry"
