Chapter 30

I'm sorry for the late chapter! I was on vacation and when I got back I got sick >~< Forgive me Minna.. Here you go !

Mira basically forced certain 'couples' to separate from everyone and spend the day on the beach together, which earned protest but Mira wouldn't take 'no' as an answer.

*GAJEEL & LEVY'S POV*

"Ugh, I don't want to spend my whole day here" Gajeel groaned as they walked along the soft sand.
"It's only for the day, I think it will be nice! I love the beach!" Levy replied with glimmering eyes.
"Seriously shrimp? You like beaches?" He asked.
"Yeah! The ocean sounds help me calm down especially when I'm reading a good book! It's perfect"
"Hmph, I think the ocean sounds are annoying as hell" he said crossing his arms, but Levy ignored him.

Levy thought it would be a peaceful day, she would hang out with Gajeel all day and enjoy the fresh air.
What could go wrong?

Sadly, she spoke too soon.
As if it was on cue a certain red haired women appeared and it wasn't Erza.

"Hey Gajeel" Ashley said running up to them in her super small bikini.
"Do I know you?" He looked her up and down and crossed his arms once more.
"Silly, I'm the front desk lady"
Levy secretly kept rolling her eyes at Ashley as she kept trying to get Gajeel's attention.
Gajeel would never fall for it..right?
"Aww, you brought shorty out today..that's cute, are you her like babysitter or something?" Ashley said which made Levy tense up.

"No, he isn't and we were having a nice evening until you came, so I think we'll be leaving" Levy grabbed Gajeel's arm and tugged him along.
"Wait! I came here to talk to you Leslie" Ashley said catching up to them.
"It's Levy"
"Leslie..Levy..same thing" Ashley grabbed Levy's hand and pulled her away.

"What do you want?" Levy got out of her grasp, and stepped quite a distance away from the red head.
"Listen, I can tell you like him" Ashley said which made Levy blush.
"W-what? No I don't"
"Well, I want you too know that it will never happen" Ashley leaned on one hip, waiting for Levy's respond.
"Excuse me?" Levy looked at her in confusion.
For some reason, a spark of rage built up in Levy and she had a urge to punch Ashley straight in the face but she controlled herself.
"I mean face it, you're short..barely any figure and do I even have to mention your bust? I have everything you don't so If I were you I would stop trying and let me do my thing, alright?" Ashley smiled at her which made Levy's blood boil.
"Why are you talking to me like I'm trying to be with Gajeel? He's nakama that's all..just friends" Levy lowered her eyes to the ground as she heard herself say 'just friends', feeling a bit of disappointment in her voice.
Levy didn't know how she felt about the idiot dragon slayer, he always gave her nicknames like "shorty" or "shrimp" To be honest, sometimes she hated the names but other times she would feel warm inside.
"Great, if you're just friends then this will be easier than I thought, thanks Leslie" Ashley jogged off towards Gajeel.
"It's Levy.." The bookworm sighed and caught up to them.

"What's wrong Shrimp?" Gajeel asked as he noticed she was tensed up and looking at the sand.
"Don't worry about it, I'm fine" she gave him a fake smile, which didn't convince him.
"Yeah, she's fine..Hey Gajeel do you want to wa-"
"Cut the crap, I know something's bothering you" he said cutting off Ashley's invitation to hang out.
"I said I'm fine, leave it at that please"
She knew Gajeel would never like someone as tiny and weak like herself, not that she wanted him to like her..well, maybe deep down she hoped he would have a slight affection for her.
She shifted her attention to Ashley, she was tanner, prettier, taller, and had curves in the right places. People would die for her figure.
Maybe she was right, a bookworm like herself would never stand a chance to grab his attention.

Gajeel opened his mouth to speak but Levy beat him to it.
"I'm actually not feeling well...I should go rest back at the resort, have fun with..Ashley" Levy turned towards the direction of the resort and walked away.
She just didn't want to see Ashley nor Gajeel at the moment.

"Hmm, I wonder what's bothering her..oh well, hey what do you say about having a few drinks at my place?" Ashley smirked but Gajeel ignored her and started walking off to find Levy.
"Wait! Gajeel!" Ashley ran after him, stopping in front of him.
He grunted to himself, as he stopped.
"You never answered me"
"Because I didn't want to, now get lost you're becoming a pest" he walked around her, leaving her alone.
The red head sighed in defeat.

"Maybe I was overreacting, making an excuse to leave wasn't fair to him..we were suppose to be spending time together after all" Levy mumbled to herself as she picked up her pace towards the resort.
Every 3 minutes or so, she would stop and try to convince herself to go back and apologize to Gajeel for leaving.
She decided to wait until he got to the resort.
Once she got to the resort, she went up the stairs and went to Lucy and Natsu's room.
To her surprise, Natsu was standing outside of the room.
"Oh hey Levy, where's metal head?" He asked.
"I wasn't feeling well so I came back to rest a bit.." She lied, but Natsu didn't catch it.
He nodded and proceed to stand out in the hallway.
"Uhm..why are you standing out here?" She asked curiously.
"Luce kicked me out, I accidentally walked in on her taking a shower, I don't see why it's a big deal though.." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"You can't just walk in on someone showering, especially girls.. It's called privacy!" Lucy yelled from inside the room.
"I said I was sorry Luce! Let me in please!" Natsu yelled back.
"You really upset her" Levy lightly chuckled.
"Is that Levy?!" Lucy said as she unlocked the door and peeked out.
"Levy! Come in! Natsu stay or I won't make food for you for a month" she narrowed her eyes at the dragon slayer as he pouted.
"No fair!"
Levy moved past him as Lucy held the door open for her and closed it behind her, before she closed it the blonde stuck her tongue out at Natsu, making him pout even more as he heard the door lock.
"So, why are you back already? Aren't you suppose to be with Gajeel?" The blonde raided her with questions, which overwelmed her a bit.
"Well Ashley showed up..and I don't know why but I made an excuse to leave and now I'm here" she sighed as she sat down on the couch that was centered in the living room area.
"Wait so you were jealous?"
"N-no! I wouldn't say jealous.." Levy knew that was exactly why she left but she could never bring herself to say that.
"So why are you back? Got bored?" Levy said, changing the subject.
"Natsu got bored"
Levy nodded but jumped when she heard someone knock on the door.
"Natsu you're not coming back in!" Lucy yelled, but was shocked when his voice wasn't heard..It was Gajeel's.
"Oi, is shrimp in there?" He asked.
Levy jumped off the couch and darted under a table.
"Levy! Get over here! You can't keep him waiting forever!" Lucy chased her out from under the table and was now running around the hotel room.
"Tell him I'm not here!" Levy whispered loudly.
"No! Just tell him why you left! Truthfully!" Lucy grabbed ahold of her arm and tugged her towards the couch and made her sit.
"Now, if you run away, you will never be able to read my novels again" Lucy threatened which earned groans from Levy.
"But Lu-chan..."
"No buts!"
Lucy jogged over to the door and unlocked it, offering Gajeel in.
"What the hell Luce! You let him in but not me!" Natsu complained as he protested but Lucy slammed the door in his face.

"Hey Gajeel! What brings you here" Lucy asked.
"Is shorty here?"
"Levy? Yeah she's right here-" Lucy looked over at the couch where she was suppose to be but she wasn't there.
"Levy! I told you to stay!" Lucy yelled as she looked everywhere.
Gajeel watched as Lucy tore the room up.
"Help me look for her"
"Uhm..ok.." He sniffed the air and immediately caught her scent.
He walked over to the small kitchen and opened up the cabinet above the sink revealing the bookworm he was looking for.

"You seem to be doing well" he said as her eyes widened.
He chuckled lightly before grabbing her waist and helping her down.
"I could of gotten down by myself you know" she crossed her arms as he raised an eyebrow.
"Whatever, what are you doing in Bunny girls room?" He scanned the room with his eyes, noticing that it was exactly like theirs.
"I have a name!" Lucy yelled from the other room.
Levy didn't want to tell him the truth about why she left, but deep down she knew that letting her feelings out would relieve her stress.
Maybe she was falling for this idiot.

"Gajeel..I'm not really sick..I lied" Levy blurted out.
"Ok" he shrugged to himself making Levy wonder.
"Ok? That's it? You're not gonna ask me why I lied and left?"
They stood there in silence as Gajeel made the "am I suppose to ask?" face.
"You know what, never mind forget it" she stomped past him, exiting Lucy's room and entering her own.
Here she was gonna confess about being jealous of Ashley and how she will never be good enough for him..letting her feelings be expressed.
But he ended the conversation with 'ok'
This time, Levy locked him out of the room.

IM SORRY THIS CHAPTER SUCKS, I'm really disappointed in myself for writing this cause it sounds cheesy and I don't know..Next chapter will be GaLe again❤️
