Chapter 24

The next day, Lucy woke up a bit sore but still functional.

She groaned as she rolled out of bed, grabbing a towel to take a shower.

She rubbed her eyes as she opened the bathroom door.

Hot air was pressed on her skin when she walked in.

She stopped rubbing her eyes, when she noticed the shower was already on.

"What th-"

"Geez, Luce stop being a pervert I'm trying to take a shower" Natsu said peeking out from behind the curtains.

"I'm not a pervert! When did you even get here...I need to start locking my doors and window" she turned away and closed the door.

Lucy sighed as she sat on her couch, waiting for the idiot dragon slayer to get out of the shower.

She closed her eyes for a split second, and soon drifted off into a dream.

In her dream, she was a little girl in her room playing with dolls.

Her mother walked in, making little Lucy jump up and hug her legs.

"Mommy, mommy! Can we play hide and seek?!"

Her mother looked down at her before smiling.

"Fine, but we have to keep it down because daddy is working" her mother said as Lucy jumped around.

"Ok! You're it! Count to 20!" Lucy quickly ran past her to go hide.

She found a cabinet in the kitchen to hide in.

She quickly closed the doors as she heard her mother finish counting.

She held her breathe, her mothers footsteps were heard in the distance.

"Oh Lucy, where are you my child?" She sang as Lucy accidently giggled.

She quickly slapped her hand over her mouth to stop from giggling.

"I.....found you!" Her mom said as she flew the cabinet doors open, making Lucy laugh.

"Ok! Ok! My turn!" Lucy crawled out and ran upstairs.

She got halfway until she heard glass shatter.

She stopped and peeked down to see her mother standing still I'm the kitchen.

Glass was covering the floor, as Lucy ran down.

"Mommy? What happen"

"Lucy, go play with your dolls now" her mom said in a low voice.

"Wha-"

"Go..play" her mom slowly started turning, her cold eyes pressed on Lucy.

The walls started going black, the floor seemed like it was melting.

Before she knew it she was at her mothers grave.

"Mom?" She said looking around.

She knelt down in front of her grave.

When she reached out to touch it, it crumbled under her touch.

She flinched, as the ground below started to shake.

"No, mom I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry, I couldn't do anything" she started crying until a tree fell her way.

Right before it hit her, she woke up.

She was sweating and her eyes were watery.

The bathroom door opened revealing the pink haired mage, shirtless.

"Ok, I'm done-"

He noticed Lucy sitting down an sweating like she saw a ghost.

"Luce, you ok?"

"Oh, sorry uhm I'm fine" she got up and brushed past him.

He watched her grab her towel and rush to the bathroom, closing it behind her.

He shrugged as he put his vest on.

After 20 minutes, she came out and saw Natsu eating all the food in the fridge.

"You're buying me new groceries"

"Fine by me, I can buy you real food..this is nasty food"

"Then why are you eating it?" She said picking out her daily clothes.

"Because I'm hungry? Duh"

"Whatever, let me change real quick"

She left him to go change and when she came back they started to walk towards the guild.

"So why were you all sweaty when I came out of the shower?" Natsu asked as she placed his hands behind his neck and walked.

"I wasn't sweaty.." She replied.

"I'm not stupid"

"That's an opinion..."

"Anything bothering you?" He asked once again.

"Wow, the almighty dragon slayer being nice for once?" she laughed.

"Hey! I'm always nice! Just not to that idiot ice princess"

"Whatever"

"Seriously though, you can tell me anything! Were best friends!" He swung his arm over her shoulder.

"Sadly" she said placing her arm around his back as they walked.

When they were almost to the guild, Lucy felt lightheaded so she stopped.

"What's wrong?" Natsu asked.

"Sorry I just feel...dizz-" her vision got blurry and quickly fainted, making Natsu react and catch her before she hit the floor.

She woke up a minute later.

"What happen?" She said rubbing her head.

"You fainted, seriously what's wrong?" He said helping her up.

"I don't know, I'm fine though..thanks" she said brushing it off.

Once they got to the guild, they were welcomed by Mira running up to them.

"We're going on another vacation!"
