Fourteen

*Third Pony*

Flash just woke up and was showering. He was whistling his favorite tune, Thinking Out Loud. (The official song of the book now! Thanks officialprincsstwily!) Soon he finished up and put on his armor. The orange pony was so happy now that he knew Twilight liked him back.

The Pegasus crossed the hall and tapped lightly on the princess' door. He stood there for a minute until the door opened. The princess seemed perfectly groomed and ready for any task they lie ahead of her. "Hi Flash!" she chirped.

"Good morning Twilight." he smiled brightly. She stepped out of the doorway and into the hall.

"I thought we could go to Sweet Apple Acres. The Zap Apples are supposed to be ready to pick today. A.J. and Big Mac always need some help."

"Okay. Sounds good to me." Flash ordered a Carriage for Twilight. They both sat in the back, talking about apples. Soon the carriage landed right outside the barn. The lightning struck and the apples turned the rainbow color. The ponies were hooting and hollering, but soon stopped when they saw Twilight and Flash get out of the carriage. "Hey Twilight, what are ya'll doin' here?" A.J. asked.

"We figured we would come and help."

"Oh, well Zap Apples need special care and removal. So me and Big Mac got this." Apple Jack smiled, trying to tell Twilight off nicely.

"Oh, okay. Bye then." Twilight and Flash got back into the carriage.

"Um, do you want to get lunch?" Flash asked nervously, rubbing his neck.

"Of course!" she smiled and gave Flash a hug. The hug lasted 10 seconds before they pulled away and started to blush. Soon the carriage landed at Sugar Cube Corner. The two ponies got out and walked inside.

Pinkie Pie was working her shift, and when she saw Flash and Twilight, she ran over to them and gave them a cake. 'YEAH YOU GOT TOGETHER, CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FOALS!' the cake read. Twilight and Flash blushed. They both agreed to throw away the cake.

Soon it was their turn to order and they both got cupcakes with a glass of soda. Pinkie brought them their food and they ate. Twilight tried to create small talk, but it was too awkward. "So Flash," Pinkie whispered in his ear, startling him. "When's the wedding?"

He sighed and let his head collide with the cupcake. His face was covered with yellow frosting and Twilight just laughed. Flash then whispered to Pinkie, and with that she was gone. She came back 15 seconds later with a 2 dozen cupcakes. Flash took a few and shoved one in Twilight's face. Now he was the one laughing until the purple mare shoved one in his mouth. He spit it out and threw one at Twilight, hitting her right on her horn. She growled and took the plate full and threw it at Flash. It landed on him making a weird squish noise. He was now covered in frosting, and cupcake crumbs.

Twilight just laughed and went to go get some napkins. She came back and Flash was nowhere to be seen. She sat down, sad that he left. She felt tears starting to come so she stood up to walk back to the castle. But before she could go anywhere and huge cake fell on top of her.

She poked her head out of the cake and looked at Flash. He was still covered with frosting and some of it was oozing off as he laughed. Twilight laughed too and Flash pulled her out of the huge cake.

"That was quite the first date." Twilight laughed.

"Date?" Flash blushed.

"Well yeah. I mean we like each other and all. So I would considerate it one."

"Oh." Flash blushed and looked at Twilight. To most ponies, she may not be pretty. She didn't wear makeup, or style her hair. And she only wore clothes to an event that was formal. Plus she likes to read and study. No guy wants a marefriend that reads all the time. But Flash didn't care. He liked who Twilight was. Her look and her personality. But if he looked at her really close, and pushed past all those details, he saw a mare that was lonely, and wanted to be loved. She never wanted to admit it because she liked her own ways, and was afraid to commit.

But she opened up to him, and was letting him into her life. She was fragile and he knew that. And Flash made a promise to himself to never break Twilight, because she is the only mare he wanted in his life.
