Twenty-Three

*Third Pony*

(Saturday Morning)

Twilight's parents watched as the nurse switched out the bag of blood for a new one. They had just arrived late last night and came right to the castle hospital. They have been there all night with only the company of a few guards, the nurses, and the doctor.

Celestia and Luna walked into the room and said a few words to Twilight's parents. Princess Luna walked over to the right side of Twilight's bed. She lowered her head and whispered, "Do not fret princess, for Flash is coming. Soon all things will be better. For I have seen the future and saw this coming. But trust me now Princess Twilight, you will be surprised of what will happen next." her horn glowed and she touched it to Twilight's. It was the Alicorn (and Unicorn) way of saying get well.

Luna left the room and Celestia walked up to Twilight. "Oh Twilight! My dear faithful, student Twilight. I promise you that you will be better soon." But Celestia knew that if Twilight didn't wake up, she would never wake up. That is because Alicorns are eternal. And the only way an Alicorn can die is if they are stripped of their powers and have no method of defense. And because Twilight didn't lose her powers, she would be like this forever.

Celestia's horn glowed and she touched it to Twilight's. She gave her one last look then went to find Luna.

The train slowed to a stop at the Ponyille train station. Flash quickly grabbed his saddlebag and ran through town. He then got enough speed and took flight. Soon Flash was running through the castle walls trying to find the hospital. He finally found the room that Twilight was in and barged in. Her parents looked at him then realized that he was Twilight's old personal guard.

"Hi. How is she doing?" he asked her parents, still standing in the doorway.

"Not well. She's in a coma and may never wake up. When she hit the ground it shattered every bone in her body. The only reason she lived was her Alicorn magic." Twilight Velvet broke down and was sobbing. Her Husband tightened his grip around her, hoping to comfort her.

Flash's heart was sinking. He was losing hope by the minute. The Pegasus slowly approached the side of her bed but walked out as soon as he saw her bruised face. He ran back to his old room and curled up on the bed crying. Crying seemed to be perfect for this moment. He cried and cried and cried.

Around noon someone knocked on the door. He wiped away his tears, fixed his hair and walked over to open the door. He was surprised to find Princess Luna. "May I come in Flash Sentry?"

"Yes Princess." He held open the door wider for her to walk in. She did so and stood in the middle of the room. "Flash, I now presume that you know about Princess Twilight's condition?"

Flash nodded and said, "I'm leaving tomorrow. I was too late." his head hung low and he refused to make eye contact.

"Do not leave. You may be late but not by much. See Twilight again tonight. I'm sure then you'll realize that you were never late." the Princess was trying to convince him.

"Okay. But only for tonight."

"Thank you Flash Sentry. It will all come together soon." She gave him a sly smile then left the room.

Flash decided to shower then get some rest before he would go to see Twilight.

Shining and Cadence hovered over Twilight. Cadence touched horns with Twilights' and then set a vase of flowers down on her bedside table. Shining hugged Twilight and touched his horn to hers and left with his parents.

Twilight looked pale against the bright white sheets. She lay, there perfectly untouched. The heart monitor giving a soft 'beep' every time her heart beat. The blue walls were a very boring blue, and the velvet drapes drove Rarity insane. The window was slightly cracked open to let the fresh air in. The lamp by Twilight's table was on and gave of a soft warm glow.

As time passed more of Twilight's friends and family came to visit her. The room was getting darker and the light clashed together. Luna came back in from raising the moon and whispered in Twilight's ear. "Do not fret Twilight Sparkle, he is coming." Luna looked out the window and saw Twilight and Flash's future in the stars. She smiled as the stars danced around forming Twilight and Flash dancing. She turned back to Twilight and told her, "It's your destiny."

The princess walked out of the room and looked back at Twilight one last time. Luna closed her eyes and her horn glowed. It then shot out a ray of purple and hit the ceiling, lighting it up with the night sky.

(Midnight)

The night sky that Luna created slowly faded away. The room grew darker and only the lamp was giving off light.

Flash trotted through the halls as quietly as he could. He didn't want to wake up any pony, especially Shining.

He finally reached Twilight's door and peeked in. He made sure that no one was there before walking in and shutting the door behind him. He stood there looking a Twilight. She lay still, the lamp highlighting the right side of her face. Flash took it all in then slowly walked over to Twilight. Once he was at the side of her bed he reached out a hoof and touched her face. He stroked her cheek then grabbed one of her hooves between his. "I'm so sorry Twilight. This is my fault. I shouldn't have left. I should've spoke up and fought for our love." His stomach was twisting and a lump was growing in his throat. "I'm sorry for breaking all of our promises. I've forgiven myself and I hope that you can forgive me." tears began to fill his eyes but he created a bridge to keep them back. "I-I... I love you."

His tears flowed over the bridge he made and down his face. He lowered his head and let the tears come. A few of them landed on Twilight's chest. A rainbow lit up the three tears then sparkled a magenta. The tear then dissipated into Twilight. Her heart glowed magenta and Flash took notice. He stepped back and watched as swirls of magenta took over Twilight's body. It then trapped her in a circle and lifted her out of the bed. She was hovering in the air and Flashed watched in awe. The magenta then slowly faded, placing her body back on the bed.

Flash rushed over and whispered her name. "Twilight?"

Then her eyelids popped open and she smiled.

A/N

Yes there is one more chapter left. After I release the chapter I will be writing a whole author's note chapter. It is very important and I recommend reading it.

The last chapter should come out on Thursday.

So about life. Yeah. We have reached 1.5k reads! Hurray!

MLP Episode: It was good, but felt like it really focused on the life lesson.
