Next update on Thursday!)
Josephine laughed at yet another one of his corny jokes as he opened his hotel room. "It's not even funny!" She insisted as she guffawed.
"Really? Then why are you laughing?"
"I feel crummy!" She cried before tripping over something warm and flying onto a lump in his bed.
"Ow!" A familiar voice called out in alarm.
"Oh! I'm sorry, I tripped." Jose said quickly, just as Katie's face was revealed.
"Mother! Did you not catch my hints?" William sighed in annoyance as he petted the alarmed Louie, who Josephine at tripped over.
"Yes, I did. But your sister kicked me out too!"
William paused very briefly. "Then how did you get in here?"
It was Katie's turn to pause. "Same way as before... I got a key."
"Mother!"
"I had to see you!" She defended as she stood, while Jose began laughing again.
"I am a grown man, there is no need to check up on me," William sighed.
"I'm not going to, I promise!" Katie begged.
Will looked her deeply in the eyes. "Really?"
She nodded slowly. "You bet."
Josephine watched as an intense staring contest went on between the pair. It was only when William moved a foot closer, blinked, and laughed, when the talking began again.
"Nice try-you nearly had me there,I think your lying skills are improving-but give me the key." He demanded, placing his hand out.
"Will-"
"Mother. Go on and get your own hotel room. If you'd like I'll pay." He said, just before swiftly reaching into her back pocket and swiping the key card.
Katie looked alarmed for a moment before sighing, "I can pay by myself," and walking toward the door.
"I do love you, don't forget that." William called as he got ready to close it.
"Have fun with your girlfriend." She teased, as she closed the door herself.
The only reason William didn't protest to the comment was because he was so stunned at the reality of it. Girlfriend? Was that really all that she was? The term sounded like two teenagers, in search of something new. Not two adults who were madly in love with each other.
"Will?" Josephine called.
He turned slowly, composing his features. "Yes?"
She eyed him carefully for a moment before shrugging. "Nothing."
William smiled and walked toward where her and Louie were sitting happily. "I haven't taken him out in a while," He commented. "What would you say to going back to the Eiffel tower and playing with him?"
She grinned. "I'd say... That's a great idea," She said excitedly, whistling for Louie and leaping out the door.
"Wait, let me grab my camera. I haven't taken a single picture yet," He called, before snatching the camera bag off the wall and chasing after her.
"Go get it boy!" Jose called for the hundredth time in the last hour, tossing the stick.
The couple walked hand in hand as Louie ran ahead of them. The Eiffel tower stood in all her glory in front of them, close enough to touch.
"Hm..." William murmured quietly.
"What?" She questioned, rubbing circles on his hand.
"I was just... Thinking," He replied distractedly.
"About?" She pressed.
William sighed and looked from her face to The Iron Lady and back again.
"Well... It's really just a thought I had about an hour ago..."
"Which is? Come on, you know that you can tell me anything."
William looked at her for the longest of moments before an odd expression crossed his features. "I-I was just wondering if... Well... Will you... Will you..." He sighed and shook his head, seeming to decide something. "Josephine. Might you do me the honor of dinner at The Jules Verne next month at... Oh say, Eight?"
She smiled brightly and looked up. The Jules Verne was one of the two restaurants in The Eiffel Tower, the one highest up, on the second floor with a private lift. It was very fancy, not to mention expensive. Jose couldn't see why he was so nervous about asking her. "Of course," She replied, pecking him swiftly on the cheek. "And for future reference, just ask and I'm likely to say yes."
William raised his eyebrows. "In that case, I have another question, feel free to refuse."
"And what's that?"
He paused for the briefest of moments before speaking while not looking into her eyes. "Would you excuse me for about an hour? I-I want to pick up a new pair of shoes."
Josephine frowned for a moment, before smiling. They had been together all day, He probably needed his free time. "Why not? I'll keep Louie."
William grinned widely and kissed her for a quick moment. "Here, take my mothers key." He chuckled, handing it to her. "I'll meet you in my room in approximately an hour, Adieu!" He called, as he walked in the opposite direction.
Josephine was silent as she watched him go, only to start in surprise when Louie's paws rested on her waist, a stick resting in his mouth.
"Oh! Who's a good boy?" She laughed, scratching behind his ears and taking it. "Willy's just gone out for a bit, but we'll have a good time won't we?"
Louie licked her face in response before running off again.
