(A:N// Sorry this one is a bit late... And sad... But I was watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. Best movie ever! All of you must. See it :)
But anyway, here it is. Another authors note at the end.)
Josephine lost her heart when the doctor spoke his final words. She couldn't breathe, and a uncontrollable sob escaped her. "No! No, your lying!" She exclaimed, burying her head into the mattress.
"I'm truly sorry," she heard him say, before the gentle click of the door rang through the air.
She didn't stop her sobs from coming, she didn't think about her tears soaking the mattress; all she could do was repeat the word No, over and over again inside of her head. No, No, No, like a broken record.
They said six months, she was suppose to have six months with him! Not a measly four! They were suppose to have a baby shower next week, and go backpacking in London, in July. It wasn't fair, it wasn't long enough, she didn't want to live without her William. "No," she managed to get out through the inhuman like noises she was making. "No, this isn't happening."
Without warning Josephine was looking into the warm chocolate eyes she would never tire of.
"Please, don't cry for me my love," he murmured, his index finger resting underneath her chin. "We knew this would happen."
"I-I didn't know it would be t-this soon," she sobbed in response. "I c-can't.. I can't live without you Will."
William sighed. "You were doing an excellent job before I came along. My leaving again shouldn't effect that."
She shook her head, a tear rolling down her cheek. "I didn't k-know what I was missing out on. How-how can I live everyday without having you by my side? Wi-without your smile?"
He was silent for the longest of moments before wiggling over and patting the small space beside him. "Please?"
The moment she complied, William wrapped his arms around her, pulling her head to his shoulder. "It's just my turn Jose," he murmured into her hair. " Just as everyone has their turn to start this... This crazy game we call life, everyone has their turn to end it. And once we do, we're privileged enough to move on to something better, to something so wonderful, that it's the best kept secret of mankind. I'm not going anywhere, I promise you; my game, my heaven, my soul or whatever else you want to call it, will always be with you."
Josephine's sobbing slowed, to be replaced with a simple waterfall flowing from her eyes.
"And because of our son, a part of me that you can actually touch will always be there. I promise you Jose, I promise you that he'll love you more than even I ever could, and he'll keep you happy, no matter what. You don't need to worry, everything is going to be alright."
Josephine didn't respond for the longest of moments, allowing his words to sink in. When she finally did talk again, her voice was no longer filled with tears. "Does it hurt?" She whispered.
William chuckled. "Probably, but I'll never know with whatever they've got me on."
"What about before?"
"It didn't really hurt. No, It was just..." He exhaled deeply. "No. It did not hurt, you made sure of that."
Josephine copied his motion of sighing. "I love you," she whispered. "So much."
"I love you too," he replied, bringing his lips to her hair. "More than-"
"Will?"
The pair of them looked up to reveal the pale-faced Destiny, sticking her head into the room; tears rolling down her cheeks. "They've only just told us, the others will be in shortly," she murmured, before shutting it once more.
Jose turned back to her husband, only to see that he was staring back at her. "What?"
"Your beautiful," he told her, smiling slightly. "Really, you are."
She chuckled. "Sure. Why'd she come in without even talking to you?"
William was quiet for a moment before murmuring "She was giving me my minute warning. Only two visitors allowed in at once you know, and you've had your turn."
Josephine shook her head. "No. I'm not leaving."
"You can come back, tomorrow. It's late, you need to sleep."
"No."
"Jose, my mother and-"
"What if your not here when I come back?" She questioned fiercely. "Then what? No."
William exhaled deeply, before abruptly bringing his lips to her own. "I promise, I'll be right here," he whispered after the longest of moments, looking her directly in the eyes. "I never do something like that to you and you know it."
In those sinfully gorgeous chocolate eyes, all Josephine could see was sincerity, there was no other option but to go with whatever he was saying. "You swear?"
He nodded, kissing her forehead. "I swear on everything I care about. I will be in this exact same spot, alive, when you return tomorrow."
She slowly brought her hand to his face, running it down the softness of his cheek. "Je t'aime," she breathed.
"Je t'aime ainsi, mrs. Smyth," he replied, just as quiet. "God, it gives me such a thrill to say that. Mrs. Smyth."
Jose laughed just as the door cracked open once more, signaling her Que. "I'll be back before nine," she warned, swiftly untangling herself from the tempting depths of his arms and heading tower the door.
William smiled slightly. "I'll be right here, I promise."
And with one final glance, she was gone.
(A:N//! Well... What do yo think? Too sudden? Too emotional? Are you sad? Are you not? I want to hear what you guys think, it's stinks not having feedback, it really does.)
