Chapter 2 - A Happy Awakening

3:30 am. Sunday morning
Daliah awoke to the sound of her alarm clock her parent's had set last night so they could get to Juno on time. By 4:30 she was dressed and ready to leave. She had thrown on a comfortable outfit for the plane, a plain tee shirt and sweatpants.
Daliah's parents joined her in the foyer and they walked out to their old blue station wagon. For the first time she was never happier to get in that car. Daliah's parents had taken their usual seats in the car, her dad driving and her mom sitting in the passenger seat. Daliah took a spot in the middle of the back clutching her acceptance letter tight as her dad backed out of the driveway and started the 6 hour drive to Juno. She had never smiled so much in her life yet she was the only one happy and she liked it that way.

After 2 hours of driving her mother spoke sadly "Honey, it's still not too late to change your mind"
Daliah was infuriated at the thought she would even think about changing her mind which had been set on as long as she can remember.
"No mom." Daliah said rolling her eyes
"Why don't you call your sisters Tell them what's going on." her father added. Daliah picked up her Galaxy and dialed her home phone.
*ring.........ring..........ring........*
"HI SISSY" Salem screamed in her annoyingly screeching voice.
"Shut up and put Hailey on the phone I wanna talk to her."
In the background of the phone you could here Hailey rushing down the stairs to the phone.
"Hello there little one what's going on" Hailey said in her usual joyful tone Daliah hated
"I'm only going to explain this once put me on speaker" Daliah said
"Ok speak we can both hear you now" " I want you two to listen carefully..."
Daliah proceeded to explain what was going on.
"You mean your leaving forever!" Salem said crying
" Daliah I love you little sis we don't want you to leave forever." Hailey said choking back tears " I hope your decision helps you for the better. I though we where friends."
Daliah was filled with absolute joy at the fact she made 2 people cry. She laughed into the phone and hung up.

10:30 am
Daliah arrives at the airport in Juno. She runs out of the car towards the plane.
"Are you at least going to say goodbye" her father screamed crying as she ran towards the plane. Daliah stopped and turned around. She slowly walked back. Rolling her eyes and walking in disgust she stopped a few feet away from her parents. "David, Shelle." Daliah said using her parents first names "You two know what....."

Dun dun dunnnnn sorry for the cliff hanger I didn't want a four year long chapter. Any name suggestions for characters at the academy????
