It's freezing out here...!

If I had the choice, I wouldn't be here in the first place, who knew that tonight it would be so damned cold?

But tonight, I got us a gig in that club, Serendipity ( cool name, I know ) and it's damn bloody hard to get one there. So, I'm not canceling, not for all the tea in China....

I'm in a band called  Sweet Nothing ( yup, just like that Florence Welch and Calvin Harris song ), along with my girls, Chris, Romy, Jackie and LeAnn. We've been playing together since we turned 15, and now, we're 18 so yeah....

Chris is a genius when you put her behind the drums, but not so much in school though. Jackie plays the keyboard and LeAnn plays the bass. Romy plays the guitar, and well, I sing....

The girls are the closest thing I have to family, since mine was not much of a family to start with. My mum and dad would yell at each other non-stop, which is worst than divorce. At least in a divorce, you separate and you don't have to live under the same roof or hear each others voice every single day! My brother, Keith, took the opportunity to join the army once he turned 18, so I haven't heard from him in the past two years.

I carried the equipment from the trunk of Chris's car and went into the club to set it up, show startes at around 8 until 10.30 where there'll be a DJ taking over. 

It's now 7.30 and the club is starting to fill up. With some time to spare, we sat in the back room while waiting for the cue to go out. I took a swig of the coke ( Yes, I'm drinking coke in a bar, alcohol before singing is not good. Trust me, I learnt that lesson the hard way ) I was holding and logged onto Twitter from my phone. I checked out a couple of updates before tweeting.

Some guy knocked on the door and smiled. 

" Girls, you're up... "

Alright, show time.....

The club was quite filled when we went in. We took out positions, and I looked behind me, my mates were ready. Chris gave me a thumbs up behind the drums. I took a deep breath as Chris started playing, and the rest followed.

Our first set was Standing In The Dark by Lawson.
