The moment they stepped through the front door, Taehyung knew Jimin was completely gone. Not unconscious-thankfully. Just... wonderfully, ridiculously tipsy.

Five days of fever had left Jimin exhausted and barely interested in food. Hoseok, apparently deciding that modern medicine wasn't enough, had shown up earlier at their get-together with a terrifying-looking tonic made from leaves, roots, herbs, and things Taehyung was fairly certain shouldn't be consumed by humans.

And the said medicine coming with a label of a generous amount of alcohol wasn't part of the plan. Taehyung only realised it long after Jimin had taken it because his fever had refused to budge. He'd given a long look at his Hyung when he saw Jimin stumble around the restaurant they were in, claiming he was in search of a cat he saw dart around the room when the restaurant itself had a board up front saying pets aren't welcome.

Hoseok had chuckled nervously when Jimin ended up against an equally drunk Jungkook, both of them bawling their eyes out at the imaginary cat they both couldn't pet.

Perhaps letting Hoseok give Jimin that tonic wasn't one of the best decisions he made this evening so far, but not long after his little boyfriend slurped the thick green fluid with his nose scrunched in distaste, his appetite was back. He'd eaten a little, and the unnatural warmth that had been clinging to his cheeks for the past few days had eased. So that was a perk.

Now Jimin was practically melting against Taehyung's side as they walked back to their apartment, mumbling things that had Taehyung's lips stretched into a constant soft smile. Only he got to experience this warm, gooey side of Jimin, and Taehyung was positive he would never tire of this.

"Taehyungie," he mumbled, stumbling a little on his feet, not the least bit worried about falling because he trusted his boyfriend with his life. And Taehyung, ever the dutiful boyfriend of Park Jimin, stuck to the end of the bargain, balancing his tipsy form.

"Hm?"

And yes, he would always listen to Jimin too.

"Do you think kittens know that they're cute?"

Taehyung glanced down at him, his eyes softening at the wondrous look over the smaller man's face, pressing a quick kiss to Jimin's temple, unable to help himself, that is. "I think they probably do."

"No." Jimin shook his head solemnly, his head probably feeling like cotton candy at this point. "They don't. They're too small to know that."

"Right," Taehyung replied just as solemnly, helping Jimin up the stairs carefully.

"And puppies. They're cute too."

"Very cute."

Jimin nodded, satisfied, clinging to him even more. "Good. You understand."

Taehyung smiled upon hearing it. His boyfriend was warm and soft against him, his long blonde hair falling messily around his face, cheeks flushed from the fever and alcohol combined. He looked exhausted, but there was finally some life in his eyes, which Taehyung considered as a victory. "Come on, marshmallow. It's Bedtime."

"I'm not marshmallow," Jimin pouted petulantly like a child, his sparkling eyes a little offended. But Taehyung found it endearing that he pinched his boyfriend's rosy cheeks, which later got bunched up into that of a chipmunk. Jimin was effortlessly cute. "I'm tired."

"I know."

"My stomach is full too."

"I know that too."
