Chapter 83

Monday Morning-5 Days Later

The psych said she could go back to work.

At Work

Everyone's just sitting at their desk waiting for case. All of a sudden, she hears voices she thought she'd never hear again.

A cop is walking in with a man and woman. He found them trying to break into Jane's unmarked in the parking garage.

Cop: Sergeant Isles, I found these two trying to break into your car in the parking garage. Where do you want them?

She looks up and whimpers.

Man: Hello, Sergeant Isles. Nice to see you again.

Jane faints. Maura and Arizona walk in at the same time.

Maura&Arizona: What happened?!

Frost: I don't know. She looked at this guy and fainted.

Maura: (looks at them) Oh, God. You're the one who burned our house down and kidnapped her! You raped her over and over! No wonder she fainted! Get them into an interrogation room, now!

She walks over to Jane on the floor.

Maura: Jane.

She kisses her and she wakes up.

Jane: (whimpers) Please don't make me go in there.

Maura: I won't baby. I won't. Frost, Nina and Frankie can handle it. Come on. Let's go downstairs to my office so you can lay down.

Jane: Okay.

They get Jane up and help her downstairs. They go into her office and Jane lays down on her couch. She falls asleep.

About an hour later, everyone walks into Maura's office. Maura's comforting Jane because she's shaking and whimpering in her sleep. They see it.

Maura: Jane baby, it's okay. You're safe. You're okay. They're gone. It's over. You're alive and at BPD.

She stops shaking and whimpering. Her breathing evens back out. Maura walks into the morgue and they follow her.

Maura: Hey.

Everyone: Hey.

Korsak: How is she?

Maura: She's fine other than the nightmares she's gonna have because of today and what they did to her. I can't wait for the house to be rebuilt so she can get a real nights sleep. That hotel mattress isn't good for her back or her nightmares. This is worse than the nightmares she had of her parents hitting her.

Korsak: I know Jane. She'll be fine after awhile.

Maura: I hope so.

Jane starts waking up.

Jane: Maura?

They walk back in.

Maura: I'm right here baby.

She sits on the couch with her.

Korsak: Jane, are those the ones that hurt you?

Jane: Yeah. I never saw their faces, but they talked to me. I'd know those voices anywhere. It's them. They did it. Do I have to see them again? Because I don't think I can. If I have to see them again, I don't know if I'd be able to keep my hands off them. I can't do it.

Korsak: Well, now that we've caught them, you will have to go to court and testify in front of them. Can you handle that? It's the only way to put them away.

Jane: I can handle that. It's just too soon to look at them. Like I said if I saw them now, there probably won't be a case for them because I'll kill them both.

Korsak: How about you three go to the hotel for the day. We can take care of them. Go get some rest.

Jane: Thanks Korsak.

Korsak: You're welcome, Jane.

Jane, Maura and Arizona walk out and go home. Frost, Frankie and Nina go interrogate the kidnappers. They tell them everything about the kidnapping. They put them in jail until a hearing.
